Pennsylvania State Police
• Police from Troop K, Media barracks, said they’ve filed charges against a person for filing a false report. According to the press release, the person, not named in the report, told police that a vehicle was carjacked at gunpoint in Chadds Ford Township, but an investigation led to the conclusion that no such incident took place.
• Two men — Peter Ebner, 44, of Williamstown, N.J., and Leeandrew McNeil, 18, of Philadelphia — were arrested on drug charges in Concord Township, according to a police report. Police said they made a traffic stop for vehicle code violations on Route 1 at Brinton Lake Drive shortly after 2 a.m. on April 2. Both occupants were found with drugs, according to the report.
• State police are investigating a burglary in Concord Township. The incident happened on April 2. According to the report, the 17-year-old nephew of the homeowner entered the Elam Drive residence at about 2 a.m., opened the safe, and removed $30,000 worth of jewelry and currency. Items stolen include a $22,000 Rolex watch, as well as $2,000 in cash.
• Police are also investigating the report of a stolen license plate from a vehicle on Route 1. The incident happened April 10 shortly before 4 p.m. The vehicle is a 2018 Toyocar Container Trailer.
• Haneef M. Mahdi, 35, of Chester, was cited for his involvement in a two-vehicle crash in Concord Township on April 15, police said. According to the report, Mahdi was driving eastbound on Route 1 near Lydia Hollow when he turned left onto northbound Stoney Bank Road. In the process, he turned into the path of a 2014 Hyundai Elantra. The Hyundai driver was reported injured and was transported for treatment.
Avondale Barracks
Two teenagers, 17-year-old boys, were arrested on shoplifting charges on April 19. Police said the two stole $21 worth of merchandise, mostly candy, from the Walmart in East Marlborough Township.
Kennett Square Police Department
• Police said Donald Sheets, 72, was arrested and charged with simple assault and harassment following an altercation during which he allegedly struck a female subject in the side of the head three times, leaving a red mark on her face. The incident occurred on April 7, in the 200 block of Meredith Street. Sheets was transported to Central Booking for arraignment.
• On Thursday, April 14, at approximately 5:01 p.m., officers were dispatched for an assist EMS call at the intersection of W. South Street and Grant Way. Once on location, they observed a male, who was already known to them as Edward Tynes. The previous day, officers were made aware of an arrest warrant for Tynes for a violation of probation from the Delaware superior court. Subsequently, Tynes was taken into custody for the warrant and was transported to Chester County Prison.
