Road report for April 16 through April 22

PennDOT has announced the following road projects, which are weather-dependent and could affect drivers in the greater Chadds Ford area during the week of April 16 through April 22. Motorists are urged to allow extra time if traveling through one of the construction zones. Work schedules are subject to change.

• Concrete patching will close lanes on Route 1 between Sunny Ridge Lane and Creek Road in Pennsbury Township from April 18-22.

• Beginning April 18 and running through June 10, utility replacement will cause lane closures on Route 1 between Elmwood and Lenape roads in Kennett Township.

• Utility inspection with possible repair may cause full closure of Burnt Mill Road between Old Kennett Pike and Norway Road in Kennett Township from April 26 through Mays 4.

• Drivers should also be prepared for lane closures along Route 1 from the Brandywine Creek to Route 202 in Chadds Ford for milling and repaving. Work is expected to begin on April 18.

• The Embreeville Road Bridge over the West Branch over the Brandywine Creek in Newlin Township remains closed because of the Sept. 1 flooding. The closure remains listed as indefinite.
