• The Brandywine River Museum of Art is offering a virtual gallery talk with Victoria Wyeth on July 19 and 20. The granddaughter of Andrew Wyeth will share her stories and reflections on her grandfather, one of Chadds Ford’s most favorites sons. The program will be held via Zoom and participants may submit questions in advance during the registration process. Limited tickets are available. All proceeds support the Brandywine Conservancy & Museum of Art. The cost is $25. The Zoom link to access this program will be automatically sent to the email address used during registration. • Concord Township resumes its Concert in the Park series Thursday, July 8 with a performance by Paul Downie & Friends. Showtime is 7 p.m. at the township park on Smithbridge Road. Bring a blanket or lawn chair. The rain date is July 15.

Summer concerts are back at Rose Tree Park starting this Saturday.

• Rose Tree Park is back with its Summer Festival concert series. The nine-week concert season opens this Saturday, June 26. Concerts run on Wednesday through Sunday evenings. Showtime is 7:30 p.m. with two exceptions: The children’s shows by Steve Pullara & His Cool Beans Band (July 2) and the Singalong with Peter Moses (July 29) both take place at 10 a.m. In lieu of a printed brochure, this year’s concert schedule is available on the Summer Festival website.

• Celebrate Treason Day at Thornbury Farm CSA — 1256 Thornbury Road — in Westtown Township. Treason Day commemorates the last day of the American colonies under British rule. Live music, food, and reenactors will be there. It starts at 4 p.m.

Tickets are available for fireworks at Longwood.

• Tickets are now on sale for Longwood Gardens’ fireworks and fountain performances for the July 17 and Aug. 7 shows. For details and for ticket information, go here.

• With the announcement earlier this month that Loch Nairn Golf Course would close at the end of 2022, New Garden Township is buying the property for open space. The cost of the almost $1.5 million purchase of the 105-acre property is expected to be covered by grants from Chester County, Natural Lands, and the township’s open space fund.
