• Members of the Pennsylvania State Police will be conducting an Operation Yellow Jacket this Labor Day weekend. Operation Yellow Jacket uses PennDOT vehicles to combat aggressive driving on state roadways.
• Brandywine Ace Pet & Farm is hosting a Big Green Eggfest from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Saturday, Sept. 5. All Big Green Egg accessories, spices, and sauces will be 20 percent off. • The Brandywine River Museum of Art is having a virtual conversation with Chadds Ford artist Karl Kuerner on Thursday, Sept. 10., at 2 p.m. over Zoom. Kuerner will discuss his book “Beyond the Art Spirit: The Mentoring of a Young Artist by Carolyn Wyeth and her Brother Andrew.” The session is free, but registration is required.

• Mt. Cuba Center is holding a Tree Spree on Saturday, Sept. 26 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It’s free with general admission. During this special event, enjoy unique family-friendly programs, live music, and more. Native plants will be available for purchase, while supplies last. The rain date is Sunday, Sept. 27. • The Crime Victims Center of Chester County had to cancel its annual BBQ 911, a first responder cookoff, because of COVID-19. However, the group is seeking donations. Anyone who donates $20 or more this month will be automatically entered into a random drawing for two free entries in next year’s event. Go to www.CVCofCC.org/donate to donate. CVC is a victim’s advocacy agency and is a 501(c)3 organization.
• Natural Lands’ annual ChesLen Chase for Open Space has gone virtual this year. Registered runners can choose their own race length, pace, and location. Proceeds benefit Natural Lands’ work to save open space, care for nature and connect people to the outdoors across the region. Dates are Saturday, Oct. 10, through Sunday, Oct. 18. Distances are 2 miles, 5K, 10K, half marathon, or Chase Challenge (complete the 2 miles, 5K, 10K, and half marathon).
