Born in Wilmington, she was the daughter of the late James & Hazel Carpenter. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Kay Ellen Carpenter.
She had a master's degree in education from the University of Delaware and taught at Highlands Elementary School. She enjoyed going to yard sales and shopping at Boscov's. She loved her special animal friends Bridget, Tucker and Benji. Her happiest times were spent with her family whom she loved dearly.
She is survived by her daughters, Amy and Jennie and Jennie's fiancé Dylan and brother, James. Also left to cherish her memory are numerous cousins and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 12:30 p.m. at Lower Brandywine Presbyterian Church, 101 Old Kennett Road, Wilmington, DE 19807 on .m.Wednesday May 23. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to Faithful Friends Animal Society, 12 Germay Drive, Wilmington, DE 19804.
