• The Chester County Orphans’ Court is seeking volunteers to serve county individuals who require guardianship – assisting the court in maintaining contact with any person deemed by the court who cannot make decisions about their daily lives, where they live, or medical or financial matters. Anyone interested in becoming part of the Orphans’ Court guardian program is invited to take part in a free training session that will be held on Thursday, April 12, from 9 a.m.to 1:30 p.m. at the Chester County Justice Center, 201 W. • The annual Concord Township Easter Egg Hunt has been postponed to Saturday, March 31, at the Parks and Recreation Building on Bethel Road. The hunt will immediately follow the arrival of the Easter Bunny at 11 a.m. Children should bring their own baskets to participate in the egg hunt.
• On April 5, the Pennsbury Land Trust will host guest speaker Janet L. Bowers, executive director, Chester County Water Resources Authority on the topic “The Waters of the Brandywine” - Worried about flooding, runoff, erosion, pollution? Learn how the Brandywine, our valuable regional resource, is being impacted and what is being done to protect it. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the Pennsbury Township municipal building.
• The April Tavern Talks episode of Law and Order: Colonial Intent will explore the ways in which laws were enforced (or not) during the Colonial period. The event is Thursday, April 12, from 7-9 p.m. at the Barns Brinton House on Route 1 in Pennsbury Township. Guests will get to participate in a mock courtroom scene, learn about counterfeiting and Colonial money, explore peculiar punishments administered for crimes and more! Just be warned: guests caught “breaking the law” may be subjected to public ridicule. Admission is $20 for non-members and $15 for members. Tickets must be purchased in advance over the phone, in person or online as space is limited. All attendees must be 21 and older. • The Chester and Delaware County chapter of SCORE will host a workshop on Search Engine Optimization, Tips and Tricks to Grow Your Business, on Wednesday, March 28, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. This seminar will explain best practices for optimizing your website for enhanced search engine performance and describe many tricks, tips and techniques you can use in your businesses to leverage this search activity resulting in more traffic to your website. • The last day to register to vote in the May 15 primary is Monday, April 16. The deadline for absentee ballot applications is 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, and the deadline for civilians to return a voted absentee ballot is 5 p.m. Friday, May 11.
• Family Promise of Southern Chester County presents An Evening of Promise on Saturday, April 21, 7 p.m. at the Kennett Square Country Club. The event is designed to help raise awareness and provide hope for the homeless in Southern Chester County. Tickets are $65 per person or $125 per couple. Family Promise helps children and families achieve lasting self-sufficiency and stability by providing shelter, meals and comprehensive support until they can find sustainable housing.
