PennDOT has announced the following road projects, which are weather-dependent and could affect residents in the greater Chadds Ford area during the week of Oct. 7 through Oct. 13. Motorists are urged to allow extra time if they are traveling through one of the construction zones.
• Lane restrictions with flagging are scheduled on Newark Road between Route 41) and New Garden Road on Monday, Oct. 9, through Saturday, Oct. 14, from 9: a.m. to 3 p.m., for construction activities as part of a project to improve travel and safety at the intersection of Route 41) and Newark Road in New Garden Township, Chester County. A spring 2018 completion date is anticipated.
• On Monday, Oct. 9, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., there will be lane restrictions with flagging on Route 162 between Brandywine Creek Road and Scott Road in Newlin Township, for tree removal.
• Curb and sidewalk installation will cause lane closures on West Baltimore Pike between Penns Manor Road and Mill Street in Kennett Township from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. through the end of the year.
• Curb and sidewalk installation will cause lane closures on West Cypress Street Between Scarlett Road and Mill Street in Kennett Township from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. through the end of the year.
• Curb and sidewalk installation will also cause lane closures on Rosedale Road between Walnut Street and MacFarlan Road through the end of the year.
• Utility installation will cause lane closures on Naamans Road in Concord Township, between Pyle and Shavertown roads on Sept. 25 through Oct. 21.
• Periodic lane restrictions remain in effect on Route 322 between Route 1 and Clayton Park Drive through Oct. 20 as part of the reconstruction and road widening of Route 322.
