Shift into high gear and rev up the family’s fun this fall at Winterthur's Fifth Annual Truck and Tractor Day.

On Saturday, Oct. 1, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., kids of all ages can hop on a fire truck, try out a tractor, strap on a safety harness and climb a tree like a real arborist, watch a backhoe and crane make big moves, put out a (fake) fire with the Winterthur Fire Company, hitch a hayride, and more. By popular demand, Winterthur’s mechanical cow will be back for kids to milk.
Get creative with farm- and tractor-related crafts in the Brown Horticulture Learning Center. Look for helmets, badges, and coloring book giveaways. Hot dogs, pretzels, and ice cream will be available for purchase.
Truck and Tractor Day is free for members and included with general admission: $20 adults; $18 seniors and students; $5 children ages 2-11. Reservations are not required, but tickets can be reserved online or by calling 800-448-3883.
In case of inclement weather, a cancellation notification will be posted on the Winterthur website – winterthur.org – and the make-up date will be Sunday, Oct. 2.
This year, Winterthur is introducing a new Friday night "Winterthur After Hours" program with a preview of Truck and Tractor Day for adults and children, on Friday, Sept. 30, from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Proceeds of Truck and Tractor Day support the Winterthur Fire Department.
