PennDOT has announced the following road projects, which are weather-dependent and could affect residents in the greater Chadds Ford area during the week of Dec. 27 through Jan. 3.
The department recommends that motorists allow extra time if they are traveling through one of the construction zones. Crews will take a break from several of the ongoing projects over the holidays, resuming work on Monday, Jan. 5.
Motorists on Birmingham Road between Brintons Bridge and Street Roads will experience lane restrictions from Monday, Dec. 29, through Friday, Jan. 2. Crews will be working on sealing from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Bridge rehabilitation will continue to require the closure of the right lane on northbound Route 202 between Paoli Pike and Route 322 through Dec. 31. Detours are posted.
Burnt Mill Road in Kennett Township is closed and detoured between Norway and Spring Mill Roads indefinitely while crews prepare for repairs to a bridge that collapsed on April 24.
Island installation will continue to cause lane restrictions on Kaolin Road at Ewart and Limestone Roads in New Garden Township. The work will be done from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Wednesday, Dec. 31.
One lane will remain closed on Interstate 95 North at the Commodore Barry Bridge for construction through July 14, 2015.
