Bundle up and join Tyler Arboretum in celebrating nature and the winter season with some old-fashioned fun designed to promote the true spirit of the holiday season.
The Woodland Winter Wonderland celebration will be held at Tyler on Saturday, Dec. 6, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Held concurrently with the Country Gardeners Greens Sale from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., it promises to kick off the holiday season in style.

The public is invited to attend this rain-or-shine celebration, which will include hayrides, unique crafts for the kids including natural ornaments created from materials gathered at Tyler, a Reindeer Scavenger Hunt for the kids, hot beverages and cookies, a mini-bonfire, historic tours of Lachford Hall, and an opportunity to have a family portrait taken in our antique sleigh.
“This is a laid-back, fun event that kicks off the holiday season. We leave the malls and traffic behind for the day,” said Sally Rogers, special events manager at Tyler. “Tyler will transport you to the 1850s by using simple and natural decorations and doing some of the activities people in that era would do around this time of year. It really helps us connect with the historic legacy that Tyler has sought to preserve over the generations.”
Visitors are invited to get some holiday shopping at the Country Gardeners Greens Sale, which also features handmade decorations and ornaments.
The Woodland Winter Wonderland celebration is free for members and free with admission for non-members. There is no charge for entry to the Country Gardeners Greens Sale. There is limited capacity for hayrides and photos; sign-ups for each of these activities will be on site at the event and are first come, first serve. Photos are free, but donations are welcome and appreciated; all proceeds go to Tyler Arboretum.
No pre-registration is required. For more information, visit www.TylerArboretum.org/events/woodland-winter-wonderland/.
