
Olive D. Brinton, 93, of Landenberg, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, at Kendal at Longwood. She was the wife of Richard O. Brinton, who passed away in 2000, and with whom she shared 50 years of marriage.
Born in Red Lion, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Joseph H. Deckman, Sr. and Lydia Fox Deckman.
She was a homemaker, who enjoyed crocheting, crafting, reading, and crossword puzzles. She was well known for her baking and potato salad. Trips to Disney World were also a favorite, where at the age of 90, she rode Splash Mountain. Being with her family was her greatest joy, especially her great grandchildren.
Mrs. Brinton was a member of the West Grove United Methodist Church, where she was very active on Church committees, and active in the Community Café. She was also a 4-H leader and a member of the West Grove Playground Mothers.
She is survived by one daughter, Susan B. Paisley of Landenberg; one granddaughter, Rebecca Rinehimer and her husband Kenneth; two great grandchildren, Matthew and Jacob.
She was predeceased by five brothers, Clarence, Hooker, Jim, Fred and Roland, three sisters, Ida “Sis”, Marion “Jo”, and Alice “Bob”.
You are invited to visit with her family and friends from 10 to 11a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22, at the West Grove United Methodist Church, 300 North Guernsey Road in West Grove. Her funeral service will follow. Burial will be in Longwood Cemetery in Kennett Square.
