Dorothy E. Lauder, 89, of West Grove, formerly of Kennett
Square, died Thursday, Dec.29, at the Jennersville Regional Hospital. She was
the wife of Warren H. Lauder, with whom she shared 63 years of marriage.

Born in New Castle, Pa., Dorothy was the daughter of the
late Carl F. and Nancy Jane Patton Sewall.

She was a medical secretary for Greenwood Laboratories in
Kennett Square, retiring in 1995 after 30 years of service.

Dorothy was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Kennett
Square for 46 years, where she served as a deacon, sang in the choir, taught
Sunday school classes, served on numerous outreach ministry programs and
missions and bible study groups; she was always there to help at any event that
involved cooking, baking and serving food for her community.

Dorothy volunteered her services as a Girl Scout leader for
15 years, at Longwood Gardens for 20 years and served as a Chester County
Hospital volunteer. Also, she was active in the League of Women Voters for
nearly 25 years. With her husband she shared a love of birds, especially
bluebirds and owls; they made frequent bird-watching excursions that took them
as far as Texas, Alaska, Nova Scotia and the British Isles.

In addition to her husband, Dorothy is survived by one son,
John W. Lauder and his wife, Deborah Alessandro of South Orange, N.J.; one
daughter, Nancy L. Keltner of Santa Barbara, Calif.; two sisters, Virginia S.
Beattie and Florence Messick of Stone Harbor, N.J.; and four grandchildren.

Her memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan.
5, at the Presbyterian Church of Kennett Square, 211 South Broad Street,
Kennett Square. Burial will be private.

Missions Fund of the Presbyterian Church of Kennett Square or to the Heifer
