Hettie Mae Sheets, 90, of West Grove, formerly of
Kennett Square, died on Saturday, Oct. 8, at Heartland Hospice in Wilmington.
She was the wife of the late Arvel I. Sheets, who died in 1967 and with whom
she shared 28 years of marriage.
Born in Lansing, N.C., she was the
daughter of the late Ezekiel and Mary Jane Welch Sexton.
She worked in Inventory Control at the
NVF Company, retiring in 1986 after 15 years of service.
Hettie attended the Kennett Square
Bible Methodist Church in Kennett Square.
She enjoyed sewing, embroidery,
reading, quilting and watching the Phillies on TV.
She is survived by five sons, Jerry A.
Sheets and his wife June of Glenmoore, Ira A. Sheets of Kennett Square, Harold
Sheets of Blackwood, N.J., Donald Sheets and his wife Roxanne of Kennett
Square, and David Sheets of Coatesville; one daughter, Wanda Sheets Henry
and her husband James of Landenberg; one brother, Grant Sexton of Alexandria, Va.,
15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild; four
half brothers, Michael, Edison, Mac and David Sexton, all of North Carolina;
five half sisters, Judy Cereghino, Mary Kate Roten, Polly Jones, Emma Sexton
and Joanne Eller, all of North Carolina.

family and friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m on Thursday, Oct. 13, at the Kuzo
& Grieco Funeral Home, 250 West State Street, Kennett Square, (Phone;
610-444-4116). Her funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Burial will be
private.
