Verlie Hamm of Lincoln University

Verlie Hamm, 90, of Lincoln
University, died Thursday, July 28, at her residence. She was the wife of
Ezra “Bob” Hamm, who died in 1978, and with whom she shared 35 years of
marriage.

Born in Prestonsburg, Ky., she
was the daughter of the late Dewy and Martha Hamilton Hall.

She was a nurse’s aide at
Pocopson Home, West Chester, for many years before her retirement.

Verlie was a member of the
Kennett Square Missionary Baptist Church in Kennett Square.

She enjoyed spending time with
her family and friends. She was very kindhearted and a very generous person.

She is survived by two
granddaughters, Charlene Mackereth of Lincoln University, PA and Lorie Maicher
and her husband David of West Grove; two brothers, James and Azzie Hall of
Kentucky, and two great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by one
daughter, Effie Roop, one sister, Ruth Hamm and one nephew, Raymond Hamm.

You are invited to visit with
her family and friends from 10-11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 3, at the Kuzo &
Grieco Funeral Home, 250 West State Street in Kennett Square. Her service will
follow at 11 a.m.

Burial will be in Union Hill
Cemetery, Route 82, Kennett Square.

In lieu of flowers, a
contribution may be made to the Brandywine River Valley Hospice, 121 Bell Tower
Lane, Oxford, PA 19363.
