• Pennsylvania State Police
from the Media barracks are looking for a woman in connection with a stolen
vehicle in Concord Township. A police report said Shayla Lawrence, 25, of
Philadelphia took a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee her aunt was renting from Enterprise
Rent-a-Car. The vehicle was parked on Stanton Court. Charges will be filed
against Lawrence, the report said.
• Two patrons of Brandywine
Prime in Chadds Ford Township had property stolen from their vehicles that were
parked in the restaurant’s lot. A police report said someone smashed the rear
windows of both cars and stole a briefcase from each. The incident happened on
Valentine’s Day, sometime between 7 and 9 p.m.
• Police are investigating the
theft of a bronze vase from a grave at the Edgewood Memorial Cemetery on
Baltimore Pike in Concord Township. A police report said the incident happened
sometime between Feb. 12 and Feb. 15.
• Garnet Valley resident Harry
Markel, 48, was charged with DUI after state police stopped him for failing to
stop at a stop sign, a police report said. According to the report, the
incident occurred on Brinton Lake Road at Springvalley Road at 2:06 a.m. on
Feb. 12.
• Justin Beardsley, 18, of Glen
Mills, was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after state police
troopers served him with a warrant for probation violations, a police report
said. Beardsley was located on the second floor of his residence on Mill Race
Place in Concord Township on Feb. 10. He resisted troopers as they were taking
him into custody, the report said.
• Police are looking for three
women in connection with a retail theft in Glen Eagle shopping center on Feb.
10. A report said the three women entered the Vivi shoe store about 3 p.m. One
suspect blocked the view of store employees while another dropped a $335 purse
into a tote bag, according to the report. The women left the store, entered a
white Dodge Caliber and fled south on Route 202. Police describe each of the
suspects as black, with one about 5 feet 4 inches tall, thin build, light skin
and shoulder length hair. Suspect two is about 5 feet 6 inches, dark skin,
curly shoulder length hair. The third suspect is 5 feet 4 inches tall, with a
medium build and her hair in a wrap. Anyone with information is asked to call
the state police Media barracks at 484-840-1000.
• A West Chester man was
charged with DUI after a traffic stop on Route 202 at Dilworthtown Road shortly
after 2 a.m. on Feb. 11. Police said Eugene P. Walker, 56, was observed driving
erratically on northbound 202. He was stopped and found to be under the
influence, the report said. He was placed under arrest and taken to PSP Media,
according to the report.
• State police charged
Christopher Tillman, 37, of Glen Mills, with DUI after stopping him for
multiple traffic violations. A police report said he showed signs of intoxication
after being given a field sobriety test. He was stopped at 1:57 a.m. on Feb. 11.
• A Bethel Township police
officer was uninjured after he reportedly lost control of his patrol car and
crashed into a utility pole on Garnet Mine Road near Weeks Road in Concord
Township. A state police report said the accident, at 1:15 a.m. on Feb. 9, was
cause when a deer ran into the roadway. The officer was unhurt, but the patrol
car was destroyed, the report said. There was no report on the deer.
