Board considers sewer loan

The Chadds Ford Sewer Authority is looking to borrow $300,00 and needs the township to guarantee that loan. The matter was discussed during the Board of Supervisors work session on Jan. 22 and could be voted on in February. Kennett Square has long billed itself as The Mushroom Capital of the World, but this past autumn the capital was invaded. The attacker? Phorid flies. Kennett Mayor Matt Fetick has issued an emergency declaration and has asked the governor for help in combatting the situation. Grant DeCosta of the Brandywine Conservancy, discusses the draft of the conservancy’s Flood Study Report that was released late Thursday. It will be available for public comment through March 1, and that the final report will be released in. April.

A draft of Brandywine Conservancy’s Flood Study Report is now available online for public scrutiny. Grant DeCosta, the conservancy’s director of community services made the announcement on Jan. 16, saying there is a 45-day window for comment that will close on March 1.
