Historic Kennett Square has another fundraiser on tap, designed to quench participants’ thirst for craft beers.
The Third Annual Kennett Winterfest will be held Saturday, Feb. 28, rain, snow or shine from 12:30 to 4 p.m. on South Broad Street between State and Cypress Streets. Modeled after the popular Kennett Brewfest, a popular fundraiser held in September, Winterfest will enable participants to partake of acclaimed beer, food, and musical entertainment.
More than 50 breweries have signed up to promote their products at this outdoor event, which features a heated tent. Tickets, which are limited and typically sell out, include unlimited tastings, live music by Shady Groove, and warm food from the Country Butcher.
General admission tickets are $65; $20 for designated drivers, who will have access to non-alcoholic drinks and food; and $85 for a ticket that includes a special connoisseur tasting held an hour before the regular event begins. All ticket-holders must be 21, and IDs will be checked at the door. All tickets must be purchased in advance.
To purchase tickets or view a list of the participating breweries, which will include local favorites Victory Brewing Company, Kennett Brewing Company, Sly Fox Brewing, Lancaster Brewing, and McKenzie Brew House, visit http://kennettwinterfest.com.
Proceeds from the event will be used to fund Kennett Square events, such as holiday parades.
