Media Barracks

  • The Target store in Concord Township was robbed for more than $1,114 on Feb. 6, police said. A white male tried concealing various items inside a suitcase. He was stopped by store personnel but was able to flee.
  • State police from the Media barracks are investigating a case of theft by deception. A woman reported to police that her 83-year-old aunt’s bank account was accessed by unknown persons who withdrew about $70,000 from various ATMs in New York. The victim lives in Concord Township.
  • Police said Jimmy A. Guardarrama, 40, of New Castle, Del., was cited following a four-car crash on Route 202 near Springhill Road in Chadds Ford on Jan. 11. Four people were injured in the crash. According to police, Guardarrama was traveling straight northbound in the center left lane, but lost consciousness, causing the car to make an unsafe merge from the northbound center left lane into oncoming traffic in the southbound left lane. His car struck the front end of the second car, causing it to spin counterclockwise and partially block the right and left lanes. The third driver observed the vehicles and attempted to turn to the right shoulder to avoid the vehicles but was unsuccessful. That third car, in turn, struck the driver’s side of the second car. The fourth car sustained damage from debris.

  • State police are investigating a case of child sex abuse through photography. The investigation is ongoing, but police said photos were found in Oregon and traced back to a resident on Isaac Taylor Drive in Pocopson Township. No suspects were identified in the report.
  • Police from the Avondale barracks are investigating a case of fraudulent checking activity. A 54-year-old Hockessin man told police he found a suspicious check in the amount of $1,471that was cashed at his bank in East Marlborough Township on Feb. 24.
  • Another theft by deception is being investigated in West Marlborough Township. Police said a 31-year-old woman reported $1,595 stolen by deception on Feb. 24. No other details were reported.
  • Police said Ethan I. Healey, 29, of Avondale, a state police trooper, was involved in a one-car crash on Route 202 near Dilworthtown Road in Chadds Ford Township on Feb. 23. The report said Healey was driving south in the left lane when his vehicle struck a patch of snow and slush, lost control of the car, and struck a guide rail.
  • Mary L. Schack, 84, of Kennett Square, was cited following a one-car crash on Village Lane near Route 1 in East Marlborough Township on Feb. 25, police said. According to the report, Schack tried making a left-hand turn into a parking lot, but climbed up onto a traffic island and struck a road sign.
  • A 79-year-old couple from Crosslands in Pennsbury Township was the victim of wire fraud. Police said someone defrauded the couple out of $400,000. Police are investigating. The report was made on Feb. 27.
  • Some stole $5,000 worth of copper from Lenape Forged Products of West Chest in Pocopson Township. Police are investigating.
  • Police are investigating the theft of an iPhone from the shopping cart of an 85-year-old man at the East Marlborough Township Walmart on Feb. 28.
  • A 20-year-old man from Franklinville, N.J., not named in the report, was arrested for DUI on W. State Street in Kennett Square on Feb. 12.

Kennett Square Police Department  

  • Jeremiah Rivera, 31, was charged with simple assault and harassment following an altercation during which he allegedly kicked and punched a family member in the face, police said. The assault allegedly caused a large contusion, bruising, and a laceration to their left eye. The incident occurred on Feb. 26, at about 1:08 a.m., in the 500 block of Las Rosas Drive in the borough. Rivera was taken into custody and transported to Central Booking in the Chester County Prison.
  • Police said Joshua Laaksonen, 26, was also charged with simple assault, criminal mischief, and harassment, following an altercation during which he allegedly struck a female subject with a laptop that he had broken, causing redness and swelling to her face. The incident occurred on Feb. 17 at 9:52 p.m., in the 600 block of Meadow Creek Lane. Charges were filed in District Court 15-3-04, and this incident is pending a preliminary hearing.
  • Marcos Sauce-Gordillo, 30 of Wilmington, was arrested and charged with DUI, possession of marijuana, and related traffic offenses, after the 2005 Scion was stopped for traveling the wrong way on a one-way road, police said. The incident occurred on Feb. 21, at 12:17 a.m., in the 100 block of E. State Street in the borough. Upon making contact with Sauce-Gordillo, police said they observed indicators suggesting intoxication, and field sobriety tests showed impairment. He was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI and submitted to a chemical test of his breath, resulting in a 0.120 percent blood alcohol level. Police also said they found a THC vape pen and an open container with marijuana inside. Sauce-Gordillo was processed for these charges and later released to a family member pending a summons. Charges were filed in District Court 15-3-04.
  • Police said Raymond Warner, 43, of Kennett Square, was arrested and charged with DUI and related traffic offenses after the 2011 Ford he was operating was stopped for an expired registration. Police also said they observed indicators suggesting intoxication, and field sobriety tests showed impairment. He was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI and refused to submit to the chemical breath test. He was processed and later released pending issuance of a summons. Charges were filed in District Court 15-3-04.

• A 40-year-old man from Philadelphia, not named in the report, was arrested for drug possession in Chadds Ford on Dec. 15. The man was lying down at a booth in the McDonald’s, shaking and sweating. Two glass smoking pipes consistent with drug use were found on the floor where the man was lying.

• Police are investigating the reported theft of a motor vehicle from Enterprise in Concord Township on Jan. 8.

• Marshall’s in the Concord Town Centre was ripped off on Dec. 15, according to a police report. The report said someone stole close to $1,000 worth of merchandise. Police are investigating.

• Police said Dorothy G. Davenport, 77, of Chadds Ford, was citied following a two-car crash on Route 202 at Applied Bank Boulevard on Jan. 15. According to the police report, Davenport southbound in the left-hand turn lane attempting to turn onto Applied Bank, and the other car was traveling north in the right lane Police said Davenport failed to yield and made a careless lane turn and struck the other car.

• A 63-year-old man from West Chester, not identified in the report, was arrested for DUI following a one-car crash at Route 202 and Dilworthtown Road on Jan. 20. Troopers determined the driver was under the influence of alcohol and was taken into custody.

Avondale Barracks

• State police are investigating a case of criminal mischief in Pennsbury Township on Jan. 23 at Parkerville near Pocopson roads. There were four victims.

• Police said Shyam S. Srinivasan, 45, of West Chester, was cited for careless driving following a two-car crash on Baltimore Pike near Chadds Ford Elementary School on Jan. 19. According to the report, Srinivasan was driving north in the right lane on Route 1 while the other car was in the left lane. Srinivasan then moved into the left lane, striking the other car. No injuries were reported.

• Police say speed was the cause of a two-car crash in Pocopson Township on Jan. 19. The accident happened on Lenape Road near Wayne Drive. They identified the errant driver as Hunter S. Firment, 25, of West Chester. According to the report, Firment was driving north on Lenape, and the other vehicle was south on the same road. Firment was driving too fast for conditions, police said, and lost control of the car and swerved into the oncoming traffic lane. No injuries were reported.

• Police said they arrested a 36-year-old woman from Augusta, Ga., not identified by name in the report, on assault charges. According to the report, the woman and a 27-year-old man were fighting over the car keys to their rental car when the woman punched the man in the arm. The incident happened on Tapeworm Road in West Marlborough Township.

• Danielle M. Days, 50, of Newark, was cited for speeding in Pennsbury Township on Dec. 23, police said. The accident happened on Hickory Hill Road. According to police, Davis lost control of her car and hit a street sign.

• Police said Haley R. Wilks, 30, of Landenberg, was cited for failure to stop at a red signal and struck another car on Dec. 20 at Baltimore Pike and Onix Drive. No injuries were reported.

Ryan M. Liddy, 19, of Garnet Valley, was injured in a one-car crash on Bethel Road on Jan. 19, according to police. The report said Liddy was driving north on Bethel when he hit a patch of slush. The car veered to the right, then left the roadway. The car then veered left, hit a wooden fence, and then a tree.

Police said they cited Lucas S. Rowley, 21, of Media following a two-car crash on Naamans Creek Road near the Wawa. According to the police report, Rowley was driving south on Naamans Creek Road while the other car was in the Wawa parking lot waiting to make a left turn. That second car, seeing the intersection was clear, began to make a left turn onto Naamans Creek Road. At that time, police said, Rowley left the single lane of traffic and began driving on the double yellow line, then struck the other car.

Police are investigating a hit-and-run accident on Route 202 in Chadds Ford Township on Nov. 20. The accident happened when the unknown driver attempted to pass another car, but struck that other when merging back into the right lane.

Matthew G. Bressler, 22, of Columbus, N.J., was cited following a three-car crash on Route 202 south of State Farm Drive in Chadds Ford on Dec. 6, police said. According to the report, Bressler was driving south in the left lane behind two other vehicles that had to slow down because of traffic. Bressler was unable to stop in time and struck the second car, which in turn struck the third car.

Police are investigating a Dec. 24 robbery at the Vape Express on Route 202 in Chadds Ford Township. The report said the suspect, unknown at this time, used a card to buy kratom alkaloid tablets, but the card was declined. The suspect then grabbed the tablets from the clerk and fled the store. The tablets are valued at $45.

Police said Destinie D. Bivins, 22, of Coatesville, was cited following a two-car accident on Newark Road near W. Street Road in West Marlborough Township on Jan. 16. According to the report, Bivins was driving north on Newark Road when she tried to avoid a deer that had entered the roadway. In her attempt to avoid the deer, she swerved into the southbound lane and struck another car.

Meredith L. Lambert, 42, of West Grove, was cited following a one-car accident in Kennett Township on Jan. 10, according to police. The report said Lambert was driving too fast on North Walnut Road near the Kennett Oxford Bypass and began to hydroplane. She then struck a concrete wall and flipped over onto the passenger side.

A 51-year-old woman from Kennett Square, not identified, was arrested for shoplifting at the East Marlborough Township Walmart on Jan. 2. No other details were released.

A 34-year-old woman from Princess Anne, Md., was arrested for shoplifting at the Walmart in East Marlborough Township on Jan. 9. Police identified the suspect as Waleaka Jones. She was arrested on theft charges for stealing $278 worth of children’s clothing.

Police said a 35-year-old man from Kennett Square, not identified in the report, was arrested for DUI following a single-car, Jan. 7, crash in Pocopson Township. The accident happened on Lenape Road just south of Parkerville Road.

There was a two-car hit-and-run crash on Route 1 in Pennsbury Township on Dec. 16. Police said two cars were traveling north on Route 1 near Old Baltimore Pike when the lead car suddenly stopped at a gap in the median. The driver was unable to stop before striking the other vehicle, which made a U-turn and fled the scene.

Police said Jalen J. Greenidge, 22, of Richmond, Va., was cited following a two-car crash on Route 1 near School House Road in East Marlborough Township on Dec. 31. According to the report, both cars were traveling north on Route 1 when the second car stopped because of traffic back at a construction site. Greenidge was unable to stop in time before striking the lead car.

A 31-year-old man from Lancaster, not identified, was arrested for DUI on Dec. 7 in Kennett Township. Police said they were investigating a vehicle stopped on a bridge and found the driver asleep at the wheel. He was determined to be impaired

A 75-year-old man from Medias, not identified, was arrested for trying to steal $466 worth of merchandise from Wegmans on Nov. 5. According to the report, the unnamed suspect left the store with a full cart without paying, but he was stopped in the parking lot by the store’s loss prevention team.

A 59-year-old woman from Kennett Square, Diane L. Plummer, was injured in a one-car crash on Webb Road in Chadds Ford Township on Dec. 29. According to the police report, Plummer was driving north on Webb, just north of Atwater, when she lost control of her vehicle and was swerving to avoid a deer.

Police are saying speed was the cause of a two-car crash on Parkersville Road in Pennsbury Township on Dec. 23. Yu Zheng, 56, was cited, according to the report. According to police, Zheng was traveling in the right lane on E. Baltimore Pike and making a right turn onto Parkersville Road when he slid and struck another vehicle that was stopped at the stop sign on Parkersville. Police said Zheng was traveling too fast for the existing conditions. No injuries were reported, but both vehicles were towed.

Lucian J. Junto, 83, of Perryville, Md., was cited for careless driving following a two-car crash on Baltimore Pike in Pennsbury Township on Dec. 2, police said. Both Junto and the other driver were transported for treatment of injuries. According to the report, Junto was traveling northbound on Baltimore Pike, driving at a high rate of speed without its headlights on. The other car was traveling southbound on Baltimore Pike as it entered the left turning lane and was struck while making a left onto Hickory Hill.

Peter A. Regotti, 20, of Aston, was charged for his involvement in a two-vehicle crash on Route 202 in Concord Township on Dec. 12. According to the report, both vehicles were traveling south on 202 approaching Smithbridge Road, with Regotti in the right lane when he slowed for traffic. He then shifted into the left lane, unaware that the second vehicle was directly next to him. Both vehicles then left the road, hitting a utility pole, causing it to snap in half. No injuries were reported.

State police are investigating a reported theft from a home on Fox Pointe Court in Chadds Ford on Dec. 18. Stolen were $6,000 in jewelry.

Police said Andrew Heckman, 20, of West Chester, was arrested for shoplifting on Dec. 20. He is accused of stealing a compression T-shirt and a shaker bottle from the East Marlborough Township Walmart.

Jailyn R. Cannon, 26, of Dover, Del., was cited following a two-car crash in Pennsbury Township on Dec. 13, police said. According to the report, Cannon was entering the roadway on Route 926 from the Karco Gas Station to make a left turn to travel east when she pulled in front of another vehicle that was traveling westbound on 926 and was unable to stop their vehicle in time. No injuries were reported.

Police are investigating a scam on Facebook Marketplace. A 55-year-old woman from Pocopson Township was reportedly scammed out of $500. No other details were available.

Police are also investigating a $1,382 credit card fraud in Pennsbury Township on Dec. 6.

Kennett Square Police Department

Borough police said they arrested Miguel Montero-Mendoza, 21, of Kennett Square, for DUI on Dec. 14. According to the police report, officers were responding to a report a disturbance in the area of N. Union and W. Sickle streets. A vehicle had struck a utility pole with two male occupants shouting at each other. Montero-Mendoza reportedly told police he had been driving, and police said they observed indicators of intoxication and field sobriety tests showed impairment.

December 17 Pennsylvania State Police Media Barracks

Andrew J. Sullivan, 42, of Aston, was cited following a one-car crash at the intersection of Garnet Mine Road and Bethel Road in Concord Township, police said. Sullivan and his 73-year-old passenger were both injured and transported to Paoli Hospital. The accident happened at 8:20 a.m. on Nov. 10. The report said Sullivan was northbound on Bethel Road when he had a seizure and struck a utility pole. He was cited for operating a vehicle with no valid inspection.

Police said Colleen P. Delacy, 43, of Aston, was cited for failing to stop at a red light on Conchester Highway at Fellowship Drive in Concord Township on Dec. 9. According to the police report, Delacy was driving west on Conchester when she failed to stop at the light and struck a vehicle that had a green light on Fellowship.

State police from the Media barracks are investigating a report of a suspicious person on Dec. 9. A report said an unknown person knocked on a door on Patricia Lane at 9 p.m., asking the resident to lend a pair of sweatpants for a prison visitation. The resident declined, and the person departed.

Police are investigating a reported wire fraud theft at Maris Grove. The victim, an 82-year-old woman, was scammed out of $1,000.

Speed was cited as the cause of a one-car crash at Route 202 and Oakland Road in Chadds Ford Township on Nov. 23. Police identified the driver as 22-year-old Jonathan E. Denenno of Garnet Valley. According to the report, Denenno said he was driving without traction control in the left lane of 202 and lost control of his car, causing him to strike the guide rail on the left shoulder. No injuries were reported. The accident happened on Nov. 23 at 9:43 p.m.

Police said Leilaine T. Godeiro De Souza Aquino, 30, of Riverside, N.J., was cited following a two-car crash on Cheyney and Glenview roads in Concord Township on Nov. 24. According to police, Godeiro De Souza Aquino made a left onto Glenview Road without ensuring it was safe to do so. As a result, the front of her vehicle struck the front of another car.

Police said Marlie R. Sloan, 18, of Cochranville, was cited for following too closely after a three-car crash on E. Baltimore Pike and School House Lane in East Marlborough Township on Dec. 11. According to the police report, Sloan was driving north in the right lane of E. Baltimore Pike but was following too closely to the vehicle in front. She hit that car, which, in turn, struck the vehicle in front of that, which was at a full stop. No injuries were reported.

A 36-year-old man from Kennett Square, not identified in the report, was arrested for DUI after he drove his vehicle into a creek on Burrows Run Road in Kennett Township. Police said they observed indicators of alcohol-based impairment. Two other people, a 70-year-old man and a 69-year-old woman, both from Chadds Ford, were in the vehicle, but no injuries were reported.

Zachary R. Stewart, 26, of West Chester, was arrested for DUI following a one-car crash on Lenape Road near Street Road in Pocopson Township on Dec. 6, according to police. The report said Stewart was driving north on Lenape when he failed to make a sharp left curve while looking at his phone.

Police arrested a 21-year-old man from Wilmington, not identified, for DUI following a traffic stop on Nov. 17. Police said they made the stop because of traffic code violations.

Kennett Square Police Department

Raymundo Martinez-Ramirez, 42, of Wilmington, was charged with indecent assault, endangering the welfare of children, and corruption of minors, according to police. These charges are the result of an investigation involving Martinez-Ramirez having inappropriate contact with a minor child. Charges were filed with District Court 15-3-04, and an arrest warrant was issued on Dec. 12.

Police are investigating a report of a counterfeit $100 bill. Troopers said they were contacted by the Oasis Family Fun Center on Lacrue Avenue in Concord Township on Nov. 13.

A one-car crash left a 31-year-old Middletown woman with a citation for careless driving. Police identified the driver as Chelsie Ann Mata. The accident happened on Dec. 2 shortly after 9 p.m. This crash occurred on at approximately 9:08 p.m. in the area of North Chatham Road/Ramee Road in West Marlborough Township. According to the report, Mata was driving south on N. Chatham and told police that she couldn’t see the curve because it was dark. As she approached the curve, police said, she then slid off the left side roadway and hit a tree. No injuries were reported.

Police said they arrested a 44-year-old man from Kennett Square (not named in the report) on assault charges after he kicked several EMTs following a one-car crash on Silver Fox Road in East Marlborough Township. Police said the man was intoxicated on psychedelic mushrooms. The incident happened on Nov. 29 at 3:38 p.m.

State police arrested a 32-year-old man from Huntington Valley for drug possession. According to the report, police stopped the driver after he failed to stop at a red light on E. Baltimore Pike.

Vicki J. Lehenky, 67, was cited for not properly clearing an intersection when her car was struck by another vehicle, police said. The accident happened on West Street Road at its intersection with Parkerville Road in Pennsbury Township. According to police, Lehenky was traveling north on Parkerville Road when she stopped at a properly posted stop sign to turn right onto West Street Road. However, she didn’t properly clear the intersection before entering and was struck by the other car.

Police said Matthew J. Buckley, 44, of Lincoln University, was cited following a one-car crash on E. Baltimore Pike near Cherry Lane in East Marlborough Township. According to the report, Buckley was traveling west on Baltimore Pike when he began to experience convulsions, seizures, and hallucinations. He attempted to stop the vehicle on the side of the road, but because of his seizures, he lost control of the vehicle. As a result, the car crashed into and over a guardrail, where it came to a final uncontrolled rest position in the bushes off the right side of the road. Buckley didn’t suffer any physical injuries, but was transported to Christiana Hospital in Delaware for further medical evaluation of his seizures.

Kennett Square Police Department

Police said Paige Blake, 32, fell asleep at the wheel of his car at the intersection of S. Union Street and E. Cypress Street in Kennett Square on Dec. 4. Officers had to knock on the windows of the 2012 Chevrolet he was in multiple times before Blake came to and stepped out of her vehicle. Indicators suggesting intoxication were observed, and field sobriety tests showed impairment. She was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI and refused a chemical test of her breath. Blake was processed and later released at her residence. Charges were filed in District Court 15-3-04, and this incident is pending a preliminary hearing.

A criminal complaint was filed against Samantha Skerchock for making false reports to police. According to borough police, Skerchock made false statements against her former husband, claiming he had pushed her out of the way during a custody exchange. However, police said that after further investigation, that statement proved to be untrue. Based on Skerchock’s repeated, consistent false statements, including a written statement that knowingly implicated her ex-husband in the crimes of harassment and assault, which did not occur and are contradictory to the video evidence,

Neil M. Patel, 25, of Upper Chichester. Was cited for careless driving following a two-car crash on Naaman’s Creek Road near Graystone Drive on Sept. 11, police said. He was not injured, but according to the report, the driver of the second car was transported to Riddle Hospital for treatment. The report said Patel was driving northbound when traffic came to a stop, but he couldn’t slow his vehicle in time to avoid striking the vehicle directly in front of him.

A 59-year-old man, not identified by name, was arrested for punching another man in the face on Sept. 14. The incident happened on Watkin Avenue. No other details were released.

Police said excessive speed was the cause of a one-car crash on Featherbed Lane near Kirk Road in Concord Township on Sept. 17. Police identified the driver as Mattew B. Reilly, 20, of New Castle, Del. Police said the vehicle left its lane of travel and struck the berm on the opposing lane, causing it to flip on its roof. No injuries were observed, and none were reported.

Jorge Graciani-Santiago, 46, of Aston, was charged with DUI following a traffic stop in the 600 block of Conchester Highway on Oct. 16, a police report said. According to the report\, the vehicle was stopped for multiple violations, and the driver was deemed to have been driving while under the influence of alcohol.

Police said Jill M. Coghlan, 82, of Wilmington, was charged with careless driving following a two-car crash on Route 202 near Brandywine Drive in Chadds Ford Township on Oct. 18. Coghlan rear-ended another vehicle that was stopped for the traffic light, the report said

Police said a 20-year-old man from Philadelphia, not named in the report, was arrested for stealing $104 worth of clothing from Target on Nov. 20.

Avondale Barracks

A 17-year-old woman was cited for driving too closely following a two-car rear-ender on E. Street Road on Nov. 16.

A 43-year-old man from Wilmington, not identified by name, was arrested for drug possession on Kennett Pike in Kennett Township on Nov. 13. The arrest came after a traffic stop. No reason for the stop was given in the report.

Police said Guillermo Reyes-Cordova, 67, of Wilmington, was cited following a two-car crash on Lenape Road near Ballintree Lane in East Marlborough Township on Nov. 11. According to the report, Reyes-Cordova was traveling southbound on Lenape Road, and the other vehicle was northbound on Lenape Road. As both cars approached Ballintree Lane, Reyes-Cordova attempted to make a left-hand turn onto Ballintree without yielding the right of way to oncoming traffic and struck the other vehicle. There were no injuries reported.

Kennett Square Police Department

Borough police said they arrested Nathan Rowe, 20, on multiple counts of assault, strangulation, terroristic threats, and more for violation of a Protection from Abuse order. The arrest came on Nov. 24.

Police Log Nov. 12: Hit and run, theft, crashes

Local and state police report the following incidents.

Pennsylvania State Police

Police are investigating a hit-and-run accident in Concord Township on Nov. 5. The accident happened on. Baltimore Pike at its intersection with State Farm Drive. Police said the offending driver made an unsafe lane change and struck the second car.

It was reported that more than $37,000 worth of jewelry was missing from a home on S. Valentine Drive in Concord Township on Oct. 3. The victim is a 90-year-old woman who said she couldn’t find the jewelry.

Police said Marissa P. Tancredi, 33, of Ambler, was cited for her involvement in a two-car crash that led to her and the two occupants in the other car being transported to area hospitals for treatment of injuries. The accident happened at the intersection of Route 1 and Creek Road on Sept. 27 shortly before 7 p.m. According to the report, the second car was waiting at the northbound intersection to make a left onto N. Creek Road. The light was green, but the southbound traffic flow prevented the turn while the car was in the middle of the intersection. The light turned red, but the car began turning while the light was red in all four directions. Police said it was then that Tancredi entered the intersection against a full red signal, striking the other car in the side.

No names were given, but one driver was cited for DUI following a two-car crash on Oct. 31 on Route 202 in Concord Township. Police said the second car was stopped at a red light when it was struck from behind by the first car.

Avondale Barracks

Police said Thomas E. Ruiz-Rhoades, 23, of Toughkeman, was cited for driving at an unsafe speed following a one-car crash on Doe Run Road in West Marlborough Township. The accident happened on Oct. 28 at 5:21 a.m. According to the report, Ruiz-Rhoades lost control of his car after cresting a hill. The car spun out of control and hit a speed limit traffic sign.

Michele L. Christiano, 47, of Wilmington, was cited following a two-car crash on Parkerville Road near E. State Street in Pennsbury Township on Oct. 21, police said. According to the police report, Christiano was driving north on Parkerville when she failed to clear the intersection and was struck by an oncoming car.

A bus driver, Jenny M. Taylor, 63, of Avondale, was cited after a two-vehicle crash at W. Street Road at its intersection with Byrd Road on Oct. 14 at 8:04 a.m., police said. According to the report, Taylor was driving north on Byrd when she tried to turn right onto W. Street Road and wound up colliding with the second vehicle. No injuries were reported.

Kennett Square Police Department

Borough police said they arrested Alicea Matias on multiple assault charges, resisting arrest, and more shortly after 1 a.m. on Nov. 2. According to the report, police were dispatched for a hit-and-run accident on E. South Street. While attempting to approach the vehicle’s operator, the male driver became combative towards the officers, and a female subject, identified as Matias, became involved in the ongoing investigation by approaching officers erratically and causing further disturbance. Charges were also filed against Joel Sanchez-Dominguez during the same incident. Charges against him include assault, resisting arrest, and seven other offenses. All charges were filed in district court, and the incident is pending a preliminary hearing.
