William Copes, 49, of Philadelphia, was arrested for DUI in Chadds Ford Township on June 10, police said. According to the report, police responded to a call of a vehicle “driving all over the roadway” near Routes 1 and 202. They found the car, a 2004 Ford, stopped in the right lane of 202 at Hillman Drive with the driver passed out behind the wheel at 3:21 a.m.

Police are investigating the theft of two air conditioning units from a construction site at the Rothman Institute Building on Evergreen Drive in Concord Township. The theft took place sometime between 3 p.m. on June 18 and 6:20 a.m. on June 21. The combined value of the units is $6,300. Police said the units were left unsecured behind a concrete wall.

A 32-year-old Chadds Ford woman had her car vandalized at Painters Crossing on June 17. The police report said someone had keyed the word “DIE!” onto the vehicle’s hood.

• An 87-year-old woman in Concord Township thwarted an attempted scam. According to police, someone claiming to be from the Social Security Administration contacted the woman saying the FBI had an arrest warrant out on her for money laundering and that she should give her bank information to have the warrant removed. The woman realized it was a scam and refused to give the information.
