Birmingham Township supervisors made short work of a light agenda Monday night. The board voted to enter into an intergovernmental agreement with West Goshen Township for shared police software. Solicitor Kristin Camp said the software will allow for the various police agencies to share reports more readily.
Supervisors also awarded a contract of more than $391,000 to Innovative Construction Services of Folcroft for the 2024 Road Program. There are 13 projects in this year’s program and that includes resurfacing of the township parking lot at the municipal building. The base bid was $321,592, with an alternate add-on for $69,600.
The board voted to remain neutral regarding two requests for zoning variances for swimming pools. The applicants, one from Dorset Drive and the other from Highpoint Drive, are scheduled to go to the Zoning Hearing Board on March 20.
In addition, supervisors approved a small, 188-square-foot addition to a property on Birmingham Road, but the applicant must still go to the Historical and Architectural Review Board for a recommendation of a certificate of appropriateness. The board’s approval is part of a revised ordinance allowing the Board of Supervisors to weigh in on projects instead of the Historic Commission for the alteration of a Historic Resource. The HARB recommendation is still needed because the property is within the HARB District.
