Rocks, rodeo and fireworks dazzle

The Blue Rocks put on quite a show for the Chadds Ford Business Association Friday evening. They soundly defeated the Potomac 5 to 1.  Cowboy Monkey Rodeo also put on a show, which was capped with fireworks.

Forecasts of rain were proven wrong in what turned out to be a beautiful evening with a breeze.

“An evening at the ballpark was the perfect way to celebrate my baseball-crazy brother’s birthday.  We ate funnel cake instead of a birthday cake while we watched the spectacular fireworks display.  As always, my husband and I were happy to support a fundraiser for the Brandywine Battlefield,” said Beth Alois.

The annual outing is given to benefit the Friends of Brandywine Battlefield. Ninety seven tickets were sold this year. Corporate sponsors are Chadds Ford Live, Leader Sunoco, Neighbors in Business, Pennock Insurance, Serock Catering and George and Judy Thorpe.

A check for the proceeds will be presented to the Friends of Brandywine Battlefield at Brandywine Prime Sept. 3.
