Springtime at Mt. Cuba Center.

Mt. Cuba Center offers a Spring Escape and asks people to treat mom to some quality time while exploring our historic gardens, lush woodlands, and new scenic trails. Pack a picnic and relax in the recently renovated Allée or spread out a blanket on the lawn for a memorable Mother’s Day. There are plenty of spring blooms at their peak during Mother’s Day weekend. Here’s what we expect to be in bloom the week of May 9. Visit the gardens Wednesday to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Chester County History Center’s Spring Festival runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 1. It’s billed as a day of fun and rebirth, with a live floral workshop, local vendors, and educational programs for kids. Workshops include building your own terrarium, candle dipping, and more. Go here for more information and to buy tickets.

Helen Sipala’s memoirs as a long-time friend of Andrew Wyeth.

Barbara Moore Fine Art is in the Barn Shops, 1608 Baltimore Pike in Chadds Ford Township.

The Delaware County Office of Services for the Aging offers the evidence-based Healthy Steps program virtually for those 60 and older living in Pennsylvania. This program helps reduce fall risk by helping participants address fears while educating and equipping them with the right tools to make a difference in their lives. The Healthy Steps program will be held virtually on Zoom from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesdays, May 11 and May 18. All program costs, including the Healthy Steps workbook, are covered by COSA, so the program is free, but class size is limited. Registration is mandatory. To register, contact Ellen Williams at williamse@co.delaware.pa.us or by calling 610-499-1937.
