Along the Ford

Road Report for June 4 through June 10

PennDOT has announced the following road projects, which are weather-dependent and could affect drivers in the greater Chadds Ford area during the week of June 4 through June 10. Motorists are urged to allow extra time if traveling through one of the construction zones. Work schedules are subject to change.

Resurfacing continues causing lane closures along Route 1 in Chadds Ford and Concord township. From June 5-10, there will be overnight lane closures between Brandywine Creek and Route 202. From Tuesday, June 7 through June 9 motorists should expect overnight lane closures from Route 202 to the Conchester Highway. There will also be overnight lane closures from Friday, June 10 to Monday, June 13 between 202 and Conchester.

Expect single-lane closures for utility maintenance on Route 52 in Kennett Township through June 14. The work is being done between Cardinal and Creamery lanes.

There will also be a lane closure on Route 1 in Kennett Township between Elmwood and Holly drives from June 4 to June 11 for utility installation.

Utility maintenance will cause a single lane closure on Route 1 in Kennett Townshipthrough June 14. That closure will be between Ladbroke Lane and Greenwood Road.

Running through June 10, utility replacement will cause lane closures on Route 1 between Elmwood and Lenape roads in Kennett Township.

Pole replacement will cause lane closures on Route 842 —Clonmell Upland Road — in West Marlborough Township through the end of June. The closure will be between Street and London Grove roads.

Utility work in West Chester will cause a daytime lane closure on High Street through June 6.

The Embreeville Road Bridge over the West Branch over the Brandywine Creek in Newlin Township remains closed because of the Sept. 1 flooding. The closure remains listed as indefinite.
