Chester County Art Association’s Christkindlmarkt is set for next weekend, Dec. 9 and 10.

The Chester County Art Association and Downtown West Chester welcomes families and people of all ages to experience holiday magic this December as the organization holds its fourth annual Christkindlmarkt, on Dec. 9 and 10. This holiday market, which has become an annual tradition in Chester County, will feature more than 75 vendors offering individually handcrafted and locally designed products. The event is free to the public and held at CCAA’s new location in West Chester’s Gay Street, between Matlack and Darlington Streets. The Christkindlmarkt will be open from 1-8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 10. Admission is free. For more information, visit www.downtownwestchester.com/christkindlmarkt

Take a Holiday History Stroll with the Chester County History Center every Saturday in December. Costumed guides will take walkers to West Chester’s early churches, department stores, and cultural sites, learning what the winter holidays meant to the people of West Chester from the late 1700s to the early 1900s. There will be a stop at the world-famous Eclat Chocolate (“Best Chocolates in America” by Bon Appetit in 2012) for a sweet treat. There will also be a discussion of the origins of Santa Claus and Kris Kringle, so if you have little ones who still enjoy the magic of the season, please exercise caution. Tickets are $20 and are available here.
