It’s Mel Brooks’ comic western classic Blazing Saddleson July 29. Will townspeople be driven from Ridge Rock so a greedy land speculator (Harvey Korman) can build his railroad or will they warm up to the new sheriff (Cleavon Little) and his trusty but quirky deputy (Gene Wilder)? It’s at Uptown! Performing Arts Center. Show time is 7 p.m. Tickets are $7 in advance, $10 at the door. Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center is at 226 North High Street, West Chester. The next free concert at Anson B. Nixon Park is Wednesday, July 31 and features Andrew Lipke. Lipke is a Philadelphia based, South African-born multi-instrumentalist and composer who marries alternative, singer songwriter, folk and classical styles. Expect a full rock band augmented by some strings for sure. The show starts at 7 p.m.

PennDOT is seeking motorists’ input on traffic safety and driving behaviors through its annual online Highway Safety Survey found at www.PennDOT.gov/Safety. PennDOT will use the feedback from this annual survey to better understand the attitude and actions of the public concerning a variety of driving behaviors. The survey is available through Aug. 12 and should take about five minutes to complete. All responses, including the “comments” fields, are anonymous.
