• Mt. Cuba Center will be holding Owl Howls from 5-7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 12 and Friday, Nov. 14. While m any people have heard owls, few have actually seen them, but Mt. Cuba’s landscape provides a great habitat for for three of Delaware’s native owl species – the barred, great horned, and Eastern screech – and winter is the best time to spot them roosting in our trees. Owls are nocturnal, so join us as we search for them just after dusk. Following a brief introductory lecture, we’ll head into the garden and listen to their unique calls. Dress for the weather. • The Westtown Township Historical Commission will host “Dark History: Murder, Madness & Misadventure in Penn’s Woods,” presented by Jennifer Green, Director of Education for Chester County History Center. This talk is free and open to the public. The talk is at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8.
• West Chester University Opera Theatre presents “The Three Feathers,” billed as a magical fairy-tale opera for the whole family. And it’s free for children 12 and under. “The Three Feathers” follows a shy princess on a journey through the mysterious underworld, where courage and kindness lead the way. Tickets for adults are $10 and are available here. Performances will be held on Friday, November 14, at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday, November 15, at 3:00 p.m., in Emilie K. Asplundh Concert Hall, Philips Memorial Building, 700 S. High Street, West Chester.
• It’s a Brandywine Christmas. The holiday season kicks off on Nov. 15 at the Brandywine Museum of Art. Returning are the Brandywine Railroad model train display, plus a new exhibition featuring a selection of miniature dollhouse displays and original artworks that were created as designs for holiday greeting cards. Both will be on display through Jan. 4, 2026. Additionally, the Brandywine’s annual Holiday Critter Sale will return to the Museum starting November 20–23, 2025, with a member preview sale on November 19.
• The Chester County Art Association is holding its second annual Craftapalooza on Saturday, Dec. 6, for children aged 5 to 14 years of age. There will be a morning session – from 9 a.m. to noon – and an afternoon session – from 1 to 4 p.m. At Craftapalooza, each child will have the opportunity to make three age-appropriate projects that can be used as holiday decorations or gifts for someone special in their life. The only special skill required of participants is the willingness to try something new. Professional artists will lead each activity, which includes painting, drawing, crafting, and generally having a good time.
