Douglas Walter Robinson, 91, of Kennett Square, died peacefully on Sunday, June 7, at Kendal at Longwood in Kennett Square. He was the husband of the late Helen Rife Robinson, with whom he shared 61 years of marriage. Born in Niagara Falls, N.Y., he was a son of the late Neil Robinson and the late Ruth Ellis Robinson.

Doug earned a Ph.D. from the University of Rhode Island and worked as an analytical chemist for many years. His specialization was mass spectrometry.

In his spare time, Doug enjoyed playing duplicate bridge (earning the ACBL Life Master rank), playing tennis, playing volleyball, bowling, and vegetable gardening. He was also an avid world traveler with Helen.

Doug is survived by his son, Mark Robinson, Mark’s wife, Karen Robinson, and his granddaughter, Alexis Robinson, all of Media. In addition to his wife and his parents, Doug was predeceased by his son, Peter Robinson, and his sister, Alice Robinson Leigh.
