Wilmington Alliance expands Creative Business Lab with May workshop series for local entrepreneurs

WILMINGTON, Del. — The Wilmington Alliance is continuing its investment in the city’s creative economy this spring, rolling out a new set of Creative Business Lab sessions aimed at helping artists and entrepreneurs build sustainable, growth-focused businesses.

In May Wilmington Alliance is featuring  two workshops designed to move creatives beyond inspiration and into structured, long-term development. Jessica Brokenbaugh and Armance Jones facilitate the events.

Building structure for creative success

The first session on May 6th is a Networking and Intro to the Creative Business Hub with Wilmington Alliance and West Side Grow.

The session is designed to help participants get to know each other.

Turning ideas into actionable plans

The second workshop, “Vision and Planning,” will be held May 14 and shifts the focus toward strategy and direction.

Participants will work on:

  • Defining clear creative, and business goals
  • Shaping ideas into viable projects
  • Mapping out timelines and next steps
  • Aligning creative vision with income opportunities

Together, the sessions are intended to give creatives both the structure and direction needed to move their work forward with purpose.

Supporting Wilmington’s creative economy

The Creative Business Lab is part of Wilmington Alliance’s broader effort to strengthen small business development and creative placemaking across the city.
