Media Barracks
• Troop K, Media Barracks, will be conducting a Sobriety Checkpoint in Delaware County sometime between 10 p.m. and 3 a.m. on Sept. 26.
• Police said Everett R. Wright, 85, of Glen Mills, was cited for careless driving following a one-car crash on Route 1 in Concord Township on Sept 11. According to the report, Wright was southbound in the right lane on Route 1 near Schoolhouse Lane when the Honda DRV he was driving began to veer off the road, then rolled over, landing upright. He sustained minor injuries. The report also said Wright told police that he was trying to prevent his dog from eating a fishing line and hook that were in the back seat when he lost control of the car.
Avondale Barracks
• John Bailer III, 44, of West Chester, was cited for DUI following a one-car crash on Parkerville Road in Pennsbury Township on Aug. 21, according to a police report. According to police, the car was traveling northbound on Parkerville Road when it hit a telephone pole, rolled over, and came to a final rest against a tree on the shoulder of the roadway. An open container of an alcoholic beverage was observed in the car, and Bailer said he had imbibed alcohol earlier. Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFSTs) were conducted, and indicators of impairment were observed. A subsequent preliminary breath test was conducted, and confirmed the positive presence of alcohol. Bailer suffered a minor injury and was taken to Paoli Hospital for treatment.
• The Walmart in East Marlborough Township was the victim of a retail theft on Sept. 9. According to the report, two men stole approximately $200 worth of merchandise. They were seen fleeing in a dark blue Infinity.
