KENNETT SQUARE, Pa. — The Mushroom Festival is turning 40, and the celebration begins with a parade through downtown Kennett Square on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2025, at 6 p.m. Organizers are reminding groups that today, Aug. 22, is the final chance to apply to join the lineup of floats, performers, and community organizations.

This year’s parade promises mushroom‑inspired flair and community pride—local artists, schools, businesses, and entertainment groups will march down State Street in costumes, floats, and displays that celebrate Kennett Square’s recognition as the Mushroom Capital of the World. Families can look forward to live entertainment, interactive experiences, and plenty of kid‑friendly fun.

Whether you’re hoping to march, perform, or showcase your organization, applications must be submitted by the end of today at mushroomparade.org.
