Road report for April 9 through April 15

PennDOT has announced the following road projects, which are weather-dependent and could affect drivers in the greater Chadds Ford area during the week of April 9 through April 15. Motorists are urged to allow extra time if traveling through one of the construction zones. Work schedules are subject to change.

PennDOT will be patching potholes on Route 202 in Concord, Chadds Ford, and Thornbury townships during the week of April 11-15.

Expect daytime lane closures on Willowdale Lane in East Marlborough Township from April 11-15 for utility installation.

Also from April 11-15, utility work will cause daytime lane closures on Gay Street Between Darlington and Church streets. Work will be done between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Bridge inspection is expected to cause a single daytime lane closure on Unionville-Wawaset Road between Wawaset Road N and Wawaset Road S. on April 15.

Motorists should expect lane closures along Route 1 from the Brandywine Creek to Route 52 because of resurfacing. Work is expected to take into mid-April.

Drivers should also be prepared for lane closures along Route 1 from the Brandywine Creek to Route 202 in Chadds Ford for milling and repaving beginning sometime in late April or early May.

Vegetation management will continue to cause daytime lane closures on several streets in East Marlborough Township through April 9. Those roads include Wawaset Road, Upland, and Unionville Road in East Marlborough, Township, Embreeville Road in East Marlborough, and Newlin township. Also included are Red Lion and Lenape roads in Pocopson Township.

The Embreeville Road Bridge over the West Branch over the Brandywine Creek in Newlin Township remains closed because of the Sept. 1 flooding. The closure remains listed as indefinite.
