Kennett Borough Hall closed

A message from Kennett Square:

Due to poor road conditions from last night’s storm, Borough Hall (600 S. Broad Street) will be closed today, Tuesday, Aug. 8. Borough Hall will reopen tomorrow, Wednesday, Aug. at 8:30 a.m. In addition, the Borough Council meeting will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, Aug. 9 at 7 p.m.

The borough has been working to address issues related to last night’s storm. Last evening, borough personnel put all traffic lights on generators to ensure functionality throughout the night. Borough personnel is currently removing debris, limbs and fallen trees from roadways and public thoroughfares to ensure safe passage for vehicles.

The borough will provide updates it receives from PECO as it relates to when it expects power to be restored. The Borough asks motorists to use caution when traveling.
