Kennett to flush water system

On Monday, July 10, the Public Works Department of the Borough of Kennett Square will begin the annual flushing of the municipal water system.

The flushing will be done during normal work hours and is necessary for the proper maintenance of the system. Workers will open each hydrant in the system and allow water to flow to eliminate sediment from the mains.

During this time, water cloudiness and/or discoloration may occur. This does not affect the safety of the water. If you experience this, you can let the water run until it clears. If you have any questions, please contact the Public Works Department at 610-444-6020.

In addition, the borough now crafts a monthly e-newsletter to keep residents informed of “what’s happening” in the borough. You can sign-up to receive the borough’s monthly e-newsletter here.

For any questions or concerns, you can contact the borough at 610-444-6020 or via email at help@kennettsq.org.
