Healthy hearts at Pocopson

It was Healthy Heart Day at Pocopson Elementary School on Friday, Feb. 13. Students spent parts of the day learning about the heart, how it works and how to keep it healthy.

Broken down into groups, students from the third, fourth and fifth grade went from interactive station to interactive station listening to teachers and volunteers explain how blood courses through the heart and lungs, how to check heart rates and getting engaged in a variety of other activities.

They also learned about healthy eating and exercise.
