At its public meeting on July 1, 2025, the Concord Township Council took time to honor members of the Concordville Fire and Protective Association for their heroic response to a house fire on Patriot Lane just days earlier.
The fire broke out in the early morning hours of June 28, engulfing a residence while one occupant was still inside asleep. Thanks to the fast and fearless actions of the responding crew, the individual was located and rescued from the burning home.
The council formally recognized Lieutenant Joseph Hudima, firefighters Timothy Green, James O’Hara, Joshua May, Christopher Zacker, and EMTs Alexa DeNicola and Steven Syska. A resolution was presented, commending their swift response, teamwork, and commitment to protecting lives in a life-threatening situation.

Fire Marshal Bob praised the team’s execution under pressure, noting that such outcomes are rare and reflect the high level of training, coordination, and courage displayed by the crew that night.
While the council continued with other township matters following the recognition, the tribute to the firefighters stood out as a powerful reminder of the vital role emergency responders play in the safety and wellbeing of the community.
