Silas W. Crossan Jr. of Avondale and formerly of Unionville

Silas W. Crossan Jr.,75, of Avondale and formerly of
Unionville, died July 9, at his home. He was the husband of Mary Mancino
Crossan, with whom he shared 48 years of marriage.

Born in West Chester, he was the son of
the late Silas W. Crossan, Sr. and Sarah Fenstermacher Crossan.

Silas was a van driver for the
Unionville-Chadds Ford School District, retiring in 2005. Prior to
working at the school district, he was a self-employed mason.

He was a member of Unionville
Presbyterian Church.

Silas enjoyed fishing, crabbing,
hunting, and being with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived
by two sons, Silas W. Crossan, III and his wife Susan of West Grove, and John
A. Crossan and his wife Clare of Wilmington; a daughter, Stephanie C. Lewis and
her husband Donald of Unionville; two sisters, Betty Brackin of Fulton, and
Margaret Jouett of York; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held
at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 14, at the Kuzo & Grieco Funeral Home
(610-444-4116), 250 W. State St., Kennett Square. Family and friends are
invited to visit with the family from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday before the
service. Interment will be private.
