POCOPSON, Pa. – Cub Scouting offers kids a path to adventure, confidence, and lifelong values—and Pack 231 is opening its doors for families to learn more at a Family Fun Night on Wednesday, Sept. 17, at 6:30 p.m. at Pocopson Elementary School.
Boys and girls entering kindergarten and up can sample the excitement with inflatable axe-throwing, ice cream treats, and boat races, while parents meet leaders and discover how Scouting strengthens character, skills, and family bonds.
More Than Just Fun
Cub Scouting is designed to be far more than a collection of exciting activities. The program follows the Scout Oath and Scout Law, teaching trustworthiness, kindness, and responsibility through hands-on adventures. Scouts gain practical life skills—such as outdoor safety, teamwork, and public speaking—while developing confidence and independence in a supportive environment.
Many activities also promote healthy living through outdoor exploration and physical challenges, encouraging habits that last a lifetime.
A Program for the Whole Family
Pack 231 encourages parent participation, inviting moms, dads, and guardians to join in meetings, campouts, and service projects. Families often form lasting friendships and community connections, while adult volunteers model teamwork, service, and leadership.
“It’s about growing together,” leaders say, “giving kids the confidence to try new things while families share the experience.”
