• It’s spring and Mt. Cuba Center is again open to the public. The center will have its Wildflower Weekend, Friday to Sunday, April 25-27 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Celebrate spring blooms with special guided tours, activities, native plants for sale, live music, and food trucks during the annual Wildflower Weekend. • The Brandywine Battlefield Park Associates will hold a Preserving Our Past event at Brandywine Battle Park on Saturday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Discover the captivating history of Brandywine Battlefield Park and Brandywine Valley. Immerse yourself in the local community. Preserving Our Past at Brandywine Battlefield Park is a day dedicated to learning about the efforts of our site and other similar locations in preserving our rich history and the land surrounding us. There will be tours of the Ring and Gilpin houses. Admission is $8 for adults; $7 for Seniors, AAA, AARP; and $5 for youth (ages 3-11).

• The Chester County 4-H program is looking for enthusiastic youth, ages 8-18, interested in an eight-week Air Pistol club. The Shooting Sports: 4-H Air Pistol Club meets on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., from June 3 to July 22, at the Chester County 4-H Center. Families new to 4-H can register for the Shooting Sports: 4-H Air Pistol Club at 4h.zsuite.org. Please note that participants must be enrolled in 4-H to join. • Something special is coming to Longwood Gardens. Normally closed on Tuesdays, the gardens will open for two Tuesdays this April. It’s Spring Break Tuesdays, April 15 and 22, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The idea is to give you more time to bring the family to wander, explore, and reconnect with nature during this most spectacular season. In addition, visitors this year can enjoy extended evening and 1906 dining hours until 9 p.m. every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday starting April 18 through May 4.

• The Chester County High School Art Exhibition and PA 6th District Congressional Art Competition is coming to the Chester County Art Association in West Chester on Wednesday, April 9, and will run through Tuesday, April 22, at the Chester County Art Association. Nearly 500 works by high school students from Chester County will be on display. Some entries will be competing in Congresswoman Chrissy Houlahan's Congressional Art Competition for students living in the 6th District of Pennsylvania, which includes all of Chester County and southeastern Berks County. Each spring across the nation, the members of the U.S. House of Representatives sponsor a high school art competition with the grand prize winner having their artwork displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year.

• The annual Wildflower, Native Plant & Seed Sale at the Brandywine Museum of Art is returning this Mothers’ Day weekend, May 10 and 11, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The sale will be held outside in the newly renovated museum courtyard. Staff and volunteers will be on hand to answer questions and provide planting and horticultural information.
• The scheduled April 2 meeting of the Cghadds Ford Planning Commission was canceled due to lack of business.
