Learn about those fierce women of Chester County on walking tour of West Chester with the Chester County History Center.

• In honor of Women’s History Month, the Chester County History Center is offering a walking tour Fierce: Women of West Chester on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, March 27-28, from 6-7:30 p.m. This 1 ½ hour walking tour will visit the homes and businesses of the women who shaped West Chester from colonial times to the present. The tour covers approximately 1.5 miles and lasts 90 minutes. The tour is entirely outdoors; sidewalks and terrain may be uneven. The event is rain or shine, so please dress for the weather. Service dogs are welcome; pets are not permitted on our public walking tours. The cost is $15.00 per person (20 percent discount with member code). Purchase tickets here.

• The Flatlanders is coming to Delaware Theatre Company from April 17 to May 5. A Poconos blizzard puts a chill on a couple’s relationship in this brisk comedic romp. Stuck in a cabin belonging to total strangers, “flatlanders” Ronnie and Michael uncover truths, secrets, and new ways to heat things up between them. But will their relationship weather the storm? Longwood’s Summer Performance Series resumes next month.

• Tickets are now on sale for Longwood Gardens’ 2024 Summer Performance Series. There will be live music in the Beer Garden most Thursday and Saturday evenings from May through October, special Festive Fridays, and more. On May 31 and June 1, visitors can experience Gilbert and Sullivan’s “The Grand Duke,” a tale of love, politics, and mistaken identity, sprinkled with Gilbert’s razor-sharp wit and Sullivan’s enchanting melodies. • The Barn at Spring Brook Farm at 360 Locust Grove Road, West Chester, invites children with disabilities and their families and friends to Spring Fling on Sunday, May 19, from noon to 3 p.m. Children can meet The Barn’s resident animals; learn about The Barn’s programs; take a hayride around the farm; play in the wheelchair-accessible treehouse; participate in crafts and more. All are welcome to bring a snack to share (please no nuts, sesame-free, and labeled food ingredients). No RSVP is necessary for this event although a minimum donation of $5 per child attending will be appreciated.

• Help preserve history and enjoy the great outdoors at the same time. Don't miss out on this opportunity to connect with nature and fellow history enthusiasts. North American Land Trust has invited local historian Michael Harris to conduct a walk and talk about the history of our specific preserve as part of the September 11, 1777, Battle of Brandywine. The event is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 6. RSVP here.

They’ll be off and running — and jumping — at the Brandywine Point to Point on Sunday, April 7.

• Come out and enjoy a day of fun and excitement at the races. Brandywine Hills Point to Point, the oldest point- to point in the Delaware Valley, will run this year on Sunday, April 7 at the H. E. Myrick Conservation Center located in Pocopson Township along Route 842, six miles west of West Chester and three miles east of Unionville. Gates open at 11 a.m. off Route 842 with preferred parking ($60) near the finish line. General Admission parking is ($25) per car. Refreshments may be purchased on-site from Saloon 151.
