The flash flood warning remains in effect until 11:00 p.m. EDT for central Chester and southwestern Delaware counties...
At 7:13 p.m. EDT, doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.
Some locations that could experience flooding include West Chester, Coatesville, Westtown, Downingtown, Kennett Square, Parkesburg, West Grove, Cochranville, Cheyney, Elam, Marshallton, Lima, Chelsea, Glenmoore, Ladenberg, Concordville, Chester Township, Hockessin, North Star and West Goshen.
Additional rainfall amounts of over 2 inches are possible in the warned area.
Precautionary/preparedness actions:
Turn around...don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
