• Students, faculty, staff and parents celebrated a grand reopening of the Chesterbrook Academy in Chadds Ford on Wednesday evening. Festivities included food, games, music and snow cones. Executive Director Loraine DiSciullo said the school wanted to make itself “more state of the art, more like 2017. We want to strengthen the educational impact.” Chesterbrook is located on Dickinson Drive in the Chadds Ford Business Campus and works with children from 6 weeks to five years of age.

• Summer classes are now open at Darlington Arts Center in Concord Township. Classes are available in dance, music and visual arts and are open to children from 2 to 13. There are also adult dance classes set to begin Monday, June 26. Go here for more information.
• The Brandywine Red Clay Alliance announces the line-up for the Sounds Under the Stars summer music concerts. Bring your lawn chair, blanket and a picnic dinner to the Brandywine Red Clay Alliance’s Myrick Conservation Center and listen to music under the stars in a beautiful country setting. The summer concert series begins June 29 with a performance by the West Chester Concert Band. All performances are held in the acoustically designed amphitheatre at the Association’s 318-acre Myrick Conservation Center located on Route 842, three miles east of Unionville and six miles west of West Chester. Music begins at 7:30 p.m.; gates open at 6.
• The Delaware Museum of Natural History will reveal what thrives beneath the soil, under the sea, in the shadows of night and within other dark environments in the special exhibition In the Dark, on view June 24-Sept. 4. June 24 is also DMNH's annual Family Fun Day event from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., hands-on activities focusing on outdoor fun in nature: live animals, trail hikes, a campfire complete with a marshmallow roast, hands-on science, STARLAB planetarium, interactive presentations, crafts, and food trucks. • The Brandywine River Museum will present Andrew Wyeth: In Retrospect, a new, once-in-a-lifetime exhibition of iconic works by this master painter. The first major career retrospective of Andrew Wyeth since his death in 2009, this exposition features over 100 works spanning the entirety of the artist's career: from the early watercolors that established his reputation to his final painting, Goodbye, completed just a few months before his death. Andrew Wyeth: In Retrospect commemorates the centennial of the artist's birth and provides the most in-depth presentation of the renowned artist's diverse and prolific practice to date. The exhibition will be on view to the public from June 24 through Sept. 17, before traveling to the Seattle Art Museum in October.
