Media Barracks
• Police said Dawson E. Manhen, 18, of Gap, was cited for driving too fast for conditions and following too closely on Route 1 at Webb Road in Chadds Ford Township on Oct. 8 when he struck another car from behind.
• Police arrested a 32-year-old woman from Newark on DUI charges on Oct. 23. The incident took place at the Wawa on Route 1 in Concord Township. Police said a store employee flagged down the police unit that was on patrol. The employee said the woman was intoxicated and was causing a disturbance in the store. The woman admitted to driving to the Wawa.
Avondale Barracks
• Vincent J. Cease, 91, was cited for following too closely following a two-car crash on Route 1 near Onix Drive in East Marlborough Township on Oct. 26, police said. He is also suspected of receiving a minor injury in the accident, but her refused transport. No other injuries were reported. According to police, Cease and the other vehicle were both southbound on Route 1. The other vehicle was stopped in the left lane, waiting to make a left turn onto Onix when, police said, Cease failed to stop in time before striking the other car.
• Police said Andrew M. Perrone, 25, of Avondale, was cited after a one-car crash on Route 926 near Conservatory Road in East Marlborough Township on Oct. 25. According to the report, Perrone was driving east on Route 926 when he veered off the right side of the road and struck a tree. No injuries were reported.
• Zachary Rinck, 35, of West Chester, was arrested for DUI and drug possession following a traffic stop on West Lafayette Drive in Pocopson Township on Oct. 25, police said. According to the report, police stopped the car for speeding.
• Police said Katherine L. Deel, 59, was cited following a two-car accident on Newark Road in West Marlborough Township on Oct. 1. Deel was also suspected of being injured and was transported to Chester County Hospital. According to police, Deel was traveling south on Newark Road when her car drifted into the northbound lane of travel and she struck another vehicle.
• State police arrested a 40-year-old West Chester woman on harassment charges following an incident in Pocopson Township on Oct. 21. No other information was released.
• John R. Riley, 47, of Quarryville, was cited for following too closely following an Oct. 14 accident at he intersection of the Kennett-Oxford Bypass and Baltimore Pike. The driver of the other car was transported to Christiana Care in West Grove. According to the police report, Riley was driving north on the bypass just north of E. Baltimore Pike. The other car was stopped in the left lane. Police said Riley tried to stop but struck the other car from behind.
