
• The Chrysanthemum Festival is returning to Longwood Gardens on Oct. 24. The artists and horticulturists have stretched their limits by nurturing and training fall’s favorite flower into 66 specialty forms, from baskets to spirals, columns to clouds. New for this year is a behind-the-scenes look with an in-depth exhibit examining the art and science behind the festival, and how the artists achieve this horticulturally rigorous display.
• Delaware County Symphony presents “My Homeland Symphony” concert Sunday, Oct. 19, at 3 p.m. This season’s opening symphony concert invites audiences to explore themes of place and belonging through a compelling musical program. The concert is at Neumann University Meagher Theatre –The Thomas A. Bruder, Jr. Life Center, One Neumann Drive, Aston. Tickets are available here.

• It’s Fall Fun by the Fire at Mt. Cuba Center on Saturday, Oct. 25, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Explore the beauty of Mt. Cuba Center’s natural lands while you take in the stunning sunset over gently rolling hills. Enjoy hayrides, s’mores at the fire pits, a full bar, dinner options, and lawn games throughout the evening in a festive autumnal atmosphere. Welcome the cooler nights and fall foliage as you relax with your friends and family in this uniquely serene vista overlooking Armstrong Pond. Admission to the Gardens is included with your ticket. Pre-made s’mores kits, food, and beverages will be available for purchase throughout the evening. Tickets, available here, are $25 for adults and $10 for kids 6-17.

• The exhibit Jerrell Gibbs: No Solace in the Shade continues at the Brandywine Museum of Art. This exhibition will survey the first decade of the career of Baltimore artist Jerrell Gibbs (b. 1988). His dynamic, large-scale figurative paintings of family, friends, and community focus on everyday scenes of Black life, transforming them into monumental moments that highlight the universal themes of identity, reflection, and belonging. The exhibit runs through March 1, 2026.
