Painter’s Folly Open House

Painter's Folly Restoration / Preservation Plan Public Meetings / Open House
Earlier this year, Chadds Ford Township was awarded a grant through PHMC's "Certified Local Government" program to draft a Restoration/Preservation Plan for the historic site known as Painter's Folly. The architectural firm of Patterhn Ives, LLC, was retained to perform the work. In 2018, the local firm of Frens & Frens Restorative Architects of West Chester joined Patterhn Ives, offering extensive knowledge of the local area and experience in historic restoration and preservation.
Project Manager Carol Quigley states, "The benefits of revitalizing a historic structure though sensitive preservation extend well beyond the building and owner; in some instances, entire communities are positively impacted." This is certainly part of the Township's goal to preserve the historic structure and to create a site where residents can gather for educational and community activities.
Patterhn Ives has now reached the point in their endeavors where your input is sought. Two public meetings are scheduled and you are cordially invited to attend. Each evening's presentation will be preceded by an 'open house" of Painter's Folly, with guided tours available. Light refreshments will be served.
The meetings are scheduled for:
- Tuesday, July 27, 2021: 6:00 PM Open House/7:00 PM Public Hearing
- Tuesday, August 24, 2021: 6:00 PM Open House/7:00 PM Public Hearing
Please mark your calendars to join the staff of Patterhn Ives, the Board of Supervisors, and other Township officials for the opportunity to share your thoughts regarding the preservation and future use of this historic structure. RSVP: or 610-388-8800, ext. 100.
