Keynote Speaker Brigadier General Maureen Weigl

 

The Southern Chester County Chamber of Commerce will hold its

7th Annual Inspirational Breakfast on Tuesday, May 24, beginning at 7:30 am at The Mendenhall Inn in Mendenhall, PA. The springtime signature event features an inspiring theme with patriotic components. The keynote speaker, Brigadier General Maureen Weigl, will present a powerful presentation entitled “Together We Serve.”

Brigadier General Weigl is Pennsylvania’s Deputy Adjutant General for Veterans Affairs. In this position, she supervises the administration of state veterans’ programs, reintegration and outreach, and veteran initiatives for nearly 800,000 veterans and their dependents. General Weigl also oversees operation of the Commonwealth’s six veterans’ homes & ensures compliance with all federal, state and local laws and regulations related to nursing home care, and, acts as the agency liaison between federal, state and local government agencies and veterans' organizations on all matters concerning veterans in PA. Weigl is a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Project Manager, Executive Leadership Coach, and member of the American Legion.

Brigadier General Weigl retired from the Army in May 2016 after serving for 25 years. Since her retirement, she has started her own woman-owned/service-disabled Veteran-owned small business, Pro Rec Resource Solutions, LLC, where she provides government consulting, talent management, & recruiting services. She also continues to serve Veterans by partnering with clothing manufacturers to make adjustable clothing for Veterans and others with prosthetic limbs. Brigadier General Weigl’s service and dedication are impactful and will be sure to influence all in attendance.

The event includes a Coffee Reception with Reception Sponsor, Qnectus, followed by a formal sit-down breakfast and program with Presenting Sponsor, Constellation Energy. Special guests include the American Legion Color Guard of Kennett Square Post 00491, led by John DiMatteo, Corporal, United States Marine Corp and local business owner and Chamber member, The National Anthem, performed by Leon R. Spencer, Jr., the Chamber’s 2016 Outstanding Citizen of the Year, and “TAPS” performed by Bill Anderson of Grieco Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc.
