WHAT:  The Junior League of Wilmington’s 36th Whale of a Sale will be held on Saturday, November 9.  The Junior League of Wilmington has taken over a warehouse space in Wilmington and gathered more than 20,000 square feet of merchandise to sell at bargain prices for a great cause. Media are invited to preview the sale, which will attract as many as 3,000 shoppers, many of whom will camp out overnight to be first in the door!

DETAILS:  The time-honored sale – held just in time for holiday shopping – offers new and gently used merchandise including furniture, antiques, children’s toys, clothing, equipment, electronics, holiday items, housewares, sports equipment, and so much more.

And you can’t beat the prices: wedding gowns and evening/prom gowns for $15; a boutique section with clothing and accessories from designers like Lilly Pulitzer, Trina Turk, Louis Vuitton, Kate Spade, Dooney & Bourke, and more; new housewares and accessories from Everything but the Kitchen Sink and Michael Christopher; a huge children’s equipment and toys section priced to sell; $2 for ALL children’s clothing, and $5 for outerwear; linens, draperies, and fabric for $1-5; furniture including dressers for $15-25, complete dining sets for $100, and buffets at $25-30; housewares and holiday, and more bargains galore.

The Sale supports the Junior League of Wilmington’s mission of training women to be leaders in the community, and the League’s community programming. In addition to its annual Women’s Leadership Summit and Young Women’s Leadership Summit, the League’s recently launched a new campaign called Stand Up. Period.  This initiative focuses on menstrual equity in Delaware and aims to ensure affordable access to period supplies.

Whale of a Sale will be held Saturday, November 9, 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. Admission is free.
