Alejando Lumas, Chester County Studio Tour

The West Chester Spring Gallery Walk is this Friday! On May 5 th from 4 to 8 pm, galleries, businesses, cafes, and other shops invite artists to host Pop-Up Shows for one night only. The West Chester Business Improvement District hosts this biannual event, which includes free on-street parking throughout the borough. Walk around town visiting the seventeen participating locations, as well as enjoying the newly reopened Open Air Market on Gay Street. Visit downtown WestChester.com for more information.

Get a sneak preview and find all the must-see spots at View: Experience the Art of the Chester County Studio Tour at the Chester County Art Association. An Opening Reception will be held Thursday, May 4 th from 5 to 7 pm. The CCAA is located at 100 North Bradford Avenue, West Chester, PA. More information can be found at ChesterCountyArts.org. Then, explore the Chester County Studio Tour, Saturday, May 20 th from 10 am to 6 pm and Sunday, May 21 st from 11 am to 5 pm. Featuring over 200 artists at 79 studios, it is the perfect way to experience the creative world of local artists. Yellow Springs Art Show

The 50 th Annual Yellow Springs Art Show is back with a full lineup of events through May 14 th! The Yellow Springs Art Show Fashion Show is on Thursday, May 4 th at 5:30 pm, join the Yellow Springs Art Show Happy Hour Friday, May 5 th from 5 to 8 pm, and see artists painting en plein air at Art Around the Village on Mother’s Day, Sunday May 14 th from 10 am to 2 pm. Local artist Pia De Girolamo and photographer Laurel Termini have a two-person show at the Da Vinci Art Alliance. Pandemic Flowers: A Bicoastal Conversation includes photographs take by Termini near her home in Los Angeles, which inspired the paintings by De Girolamo, which led to a collaborative creative experience through the stresses and losses of the pandemic. An Opening Reception will be held Thursday, May 4 th from 4 to 7 pm and a Closing Reception and Artist Discussion will be held on Sunday, May 21 st from 12 to 2 pm. Karl J. Kuerner brings his new show, Many Hats, to Sunset Hill Jewelers and Fine Art Gallery. The Opening Reception will take place during the Spring Gallery Walk in Downtown West Chester on Friday, May 5 th from 4 to 8 pm. On Wednesday, May 10 th , author Bruce E. Mowday and projection artist Michael Lynch will join Kuerner in the gallery. This evening will focus on art, the local art scene, and two books written by Mowday and featuring paintings by Kuerner: Emotional Gettysburg, and the upcoming Emotional Brandywine. Portrait Show, David Katz Gallery

Be the first to take in a never-before-shown collection of paintings at the Portrait Show during the Spring Gallery Walk at the David Katz Gallery on Friday, May 5 th from 4 to 8 pm. Works from special guest artist Sophia A. Foutres, “The Unlocked Artist,” will also be on view at this event. The David Katz Gallery is located at 128 East Gay Street, West Chester, PA. Two exhibitions are on view at the Media Arts Council. On May 5 th , see Passage: 2023 Annual Juried Art Show, featuring over fifty works selected by juror Maryanne Buschini. Materiality: Art. Fashion. Craft showcases the work of emerging and established designers at the Main Line Art Center. Energy and emotion work together to evoke “garments” that incorporate unusual materials. A Cocktails & Couture Fundraiser will be held on Saturday, May 6 th from 6 to 9 pm. Kindred Art brings three artists—Mikel Elam, Carl Cellini, and Richard Metz—to The Art Trust. Featuring works created collaboratively, the various techniques create layers of perspectives. An Artists Reception will be held during the Spring Gallery Walk on Friday, May 5 th from 4 to 8 pm. An Artists’ Talk will be held Thursday, May 18 th from 7 to 8 pm.
