Celebrating 92 years of horseracing on the Main Line, the Radnor Hunt Races return on Saturday, May 20, in Willistown Township, Chester. Tickets are now on sale. All event proceeds benefit the open space and clean water programs of the Brandywine Conservancy —the sole beneficiary of the event for more than 40 years. The races will take place rain or shine on Saturday, May 20, at the W. Burling Cocks Racecourse at the Radnor Hunt. Gates open at 9 a.m. and close at 5 p.m. Admission is sold in advance and must be purchased by May 10 — there are no race day sales. Tickets can be purchased online by visiting www.radnorhuntraces.org or by calling 610-388-8383.

Now through June, The Residence at Chadds Ford is collecting old eyeglasses and hearing aids. They will be donated to the Lion’s Club. The Residence at Chadds Ford is on Route 202, 1778 Wilmington Pike.

Learn sustainable gardening practices at Mt. Cuba Center on Saturday, May 13.

Take an in-depth look at the gardens and discover how to apply sustainable gardening practices. Learn about environmental topics such as climate change, systems thinking, and consciously sourcing native plants for your region. This tour expands on concepts covered in the introductory Welcome Walk. Tours include walking over rolling terrain and mulched paths. Tickets include admission for the day, so stay for a picnic or enjoy the gardens after the tour has ended. Walk-ins are accepted as space allows. Two hours, $19 per non-member, $4 for members. Mezzo-soprano Megan Ihnen and pianist Marianne Parker will present a concert exploring personal growth, evolving roles in life, and the unwavering forward motion amid uncertainty that exists in that space on Thursday, May 4 at 5 p.m. at Delaware County Community College’s Marple Campus (901 South Media Line Road, Media, PA 19063). The concert will also be live-streamed on Zoom. Tickets are $10 for general admission, and free to students. For tickets, visit dccc.edu/concerts.

Sunset Hill Jewelers and Fine Arts Gallery, one of the region’s most trusted jewelry stores, celebrates 40 years in business with an art show featuring celebrated Chadds Ford artist Karl J. Kuerner. To celebrate Sunset Hill Jewelers' 40th anniversary, owner Sandra Riper has engaged noted Chadds Ford artist Karl J. Kuerner to display his art in the store’s second-floor fine arts gallery. Kuerner is the only artist to be personally mentored by world-famous artist Andrew Wyeth and Wyeth’s sister, Carolyn. The opening reception, free to the public, takes place on Friday, May 5, from 4 to 8 p.m. at 23 North High Street, West Chester.

The Kennett Square Beautification Committee is selling plants for home beautification on Saturday, May 6 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Sunday, May 7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Pratts Greenhouse 634 Hillendale Road Avondale. This is a fundraiser for the committee.
