No fooling here—we have another month full of fantastic art events, shows, and exhibition coming up in April! It is the perfect time to get out and smell the blooming roses and all the other flowers taking over the countryside.

The 50 th Annual Yellow Springs Art Show is back with a full lineup of events from April 29th to May 14th ! Open daily from 10 am to 4 pm, see over 4,000 works of original art from more than 200 artists, including a juried show. There are unique events throughout the show too: Get tickets to the “Denim to Diamonds” Yellow Springs Art Show pARTy on Friday, April 28 th at 5 pm, attend the Yellow Springs Art Show Fashion Show on Thursday, May 4 th at 5:30 pm, join the Yellow Springs Art Show Happy Hour Friday, May 5 th from 5 to 8 pm, and see artists painting en plein air at Art Around the Village on Mother’s Day, Sunday May 14 th from 10 am to 2 pm. The Glenside Arts Festival returns for its 9 th year in Downtown Glenside, PA. Enjoy the “Classic Town” feel with fine arts, crafts, entertainment, local food and food trucks, and wine and craft beer tastings. The show will be Saturday, April 22 nd from 11 am to 5 pm. The West Chester Film Festival is back with its 17 th International Short Film Fest! See 49 short films from around the world over three days in Downtown West Chester. There are events all weekend long, from the Opening Night Party to the Filmmakers Meet & Greet, Pop-Up Film Blocks to the Closing Night Chester Awards Party. Don’t miss The Mushroom Man, a short film about the work of G. Raymond Rettew, a scientist from West Chester who used his knowledge of mushroom production to become the first person to mass produce penicillin and save countless lives during WWII and beyond. And see The Brandywine Tradition take over the big screen in Projecting at the Ford, a film that features celebrated local artworks projected at their original settings with voiceovers from artists Andrew Wyeth, Karl J. Kuerner, and Jamie Wyeth.  The main venue for the West Chester Film Festival is the Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center, with other events throughout downtown all weekend. Take in the Monochrome View, a solo exhibition from artist Ara Ko, at the Oxford Arts Alliance. Featuring abstract paintings influenced artists such as Julie Mehretu, Agnes Martin, Mondrian, and Malevich, there is more to see than some shades of gray. An Opening Reception will be held Friday, April 7 th from 5 to 8 pm, and the show is on view until April 28th. In the Emerging Artist Gallery, Reflections on Home, a Solo Exhibition from Olivia Stoltzfus, a student at the Rhode Island School of Design, features her textile designs inspired by her Amish heritage. Talisman, Jennifer Doman, The Jeweled Warrior

A Chapel of Tears, an exhibition at the Chris White Gallery in Wilmington, DE brings together over two dozen artists from three continents. Curated by Nanci Hersh, the show explores tears symbolically, with various media and art styles mingling to create a layered display of emotion. It is on view through May 5 th. Philip Carrol & Large Works takes up space at Gallery 222 from April 5 th through the 29 th. Featuring pieces from local artists Jan Wier, Randall Graham, Rachel Altschuler, Monique Sarkessian, Elise Phillips, and Douglas Martenson, an Opening Reception will be held Saturday, April 8th from 2 to 5 pm. The Chester County Art Association brings student artwork from the Chester County Intermediate Unit High School Show from April 13 th through April 23 rd . Philip Carroll, Gallery 222

Talisman, a solo exhibit from Jennifer Domal, is at The Jeweled Warrior until April 16 th . Pysanky demonstrations and classes will be held on Saturday, April 8 th , registration required. The Media Arts Council Collective presents Awakening, on view from April 7th to the 30th. Also showing is Constancy and Change from artists Patricia Danzon and Laurie Doran. A trio of new exhibitions takes the stage at the Community Arts Center: Diaspora DNA in the Duke Gallery, on view to April 16th ; Alvina Davis in the BeaDazzle Lounge Gallery, on view through April 16 th ; and Alice Myer Wallace: Student Works in the Stairwell Gallery, on view to June 6th . Tickets are on sale now for The Diamond Jubilee celebrating 75 years of art at the CAC on Saturday, April 22 nd from 7 to 10 pm. The 2023 Members & Teaching Artists Exhibition is on view at The Main Line Art Center through April 21, 2023. A Closing Reception & Seconds Sale will be held on Saturday, April 15th from 4 to 7 pm. Sculptors—a Call for Entry is open for the 2023 Outdoor Garden Sculpture Exhibition, with the deadline to apply on Monday, April 3 rd . See what lies underneath at A Terrible Beauty, on view from March 1 st to April 21 st at The Art Trust. This exhibition includes 2D and 3D multidisciplinary work from Katee Boyle, Diane Cirafesi, and Mia Fabrizio. A Closing Reception on Thursday, April 20 th from 5 to 8 pm. Projecting at the Ford, West Chester Film Festival

Andrew Wyeth gets a new perspective at the Brandywine River Museum of Art in Home Places. This is the first exhibition curated by the inaugural Wyeth Foundation Curator and Director of the Andrew & Betsy Wyeth Study Center, Dr. William L. Coleman. The exhibition is on view through July 13 th . Virtual Talks conducted by the curator can be found on their website. Plus the popular Studio Tours are back! Guided tours of the N. C. Wyeth House & Studio and the Andrew Wyeth Studio resume April 5th. Tours of Kuerner Farm will also be held on certain dates. Get inspired by the Stories We Tell, a new show at the Square Pear Gallery. Featuring twenty-nine local artists and including visual art, pottery, and jewelry, each piece is accompanied by astory about the subject, the techniques involved, or the inspiration. The Wilmington Art Loop is held every First(ish!) Friday in Downtown Wilmington. This month, it will be held on Friday, April 14 th , featuring galleries throughout the city.
