Reginald Wilmot Lowe of Chadds Ford

Reginald Wilmot Lowe (Reggie), 93, a longtime resident of Chadds Ford, died peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 9, at the Crosslands Retirement Community in Kennett Square. He was born May 19, 1929, in Leyland, England  and was the child of John Reginald Lowe and Annie (nee Wellbank) Lowe. Reggie was the beloved husband of Barbara Lowe, who predeceased him on Sept. 8. They enjoyed nearly 64 years of marriage, having married on Dec. 7, 1957, in The Parish Church of Wesham, County of Lancaster, England. Thereafter, they relocated to Canada, and then to the United States, ultimately settling in Chadds Ford.

Reggie was employed as a mechanical engineer, who, in his later years, designed and manufactured ceramic objects d'art. While raised in the Anglican (Church of England) tradition, he was an active member of the Religious Society of Friends, first at Greene Street Meeting in Philadelphia, and thereafter at Birmingham Friends (Quakers) Meeting in West Chester, Pennsylvania. He and Barbara were faithful attendees at worship and as participants in the many activities at Birmingham Meeting. Reggie was known for his visiting ministry among Friends, his deep faith, and his spiritual messages. Interment at the Birmingham â€" Lafayette Cemetery, West Chester, was Saturday, March 4.
